During a motivational meeting on the morning of June 23, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan welcomed new faces called up to the national team. These newcomers include Patrik Le Giang, Nguyen Tai Loc, and Ngo Dang Khoa. The VFF chief expressed confidence that these players will integrate quickly. He expects them to showcase their abilities and contribute positively to the squad.
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized that Vietnam’s immediate goal is to defend their championship title at the ASEAN Cup 2026. This task will not be easy. Regional rivals have invested heavily and made clear progress recently. Because of this, Coach Kim Sang Sik’s squad must prepare thoroughly and maintain the highest determination.

The VFF President also addressed long-term goals. These include the Asian Cup 2027 finals in Saudi Arabia and future World Cup qualifying campaigns. Mr. Tuan highly valued experienced players like Nguyen Quang Hai, Nguyen Hoang Duc, Dang Van Lâm, Do Duy Manh, and Doan Van Hau. At the same time, he expects new talents to provide high-quality options for the team moving forward.
Notably, the team is gathering during the World Cup 2026 season. Therefore, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan requested that players strictly follow coaching staff regulations. They must maintain proper routines and rest well. Most importantly, players must focus fully on their professional duties during training and matches.

According to the schedule, the team will train in Hanoi from June 23 to July 1. After that, they will head to South Korea for a training camp from July 2 to July 14. During this camp, the team will play three friendly matches. The coaching staff chose these opponents specifically to test tactical plans, review the squad, and refine their strategies.
After the training camp, the team will return to Hanoi for further practice. They will then play an international friendly match against Myanmar on July 18 at the Thai Nguyen Stadium. This match offers a final opportunity for the coaching staff to evaluate players and complete preparations before the ASEAN Cup 2026. Vietnam will open their regional tournament campaign with an away match against Timor Leste on July 24.
