On the afternoon of October 26, the Vietnam–Poland Business Roundtable convened in Hanoi. The event took place immediately after leaders of both nations announced the upgrade of bilateral ties to a Strategic Partnership.
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung affirmed that economic, trade, and investment cooperation serves as a pivotal pillar in Vietnam–Poland relations.
Poland currently ranks as Vietnam’s largest trading partner in Central and Eastern Europe. It also stands as the 36th largest foreign investor in Vietnam. Last year, two-way trade approached 4 billion USD, rising nearly 15% from 2024. In the first nine months of this year, bilateral trade reached nearly 3.5 billion USD, up 19% year-on-year compared to the same period in 2025.
He noted that both nations possess abundant room, potential, and favorable conditions to connect markets, strengthen production linkages, build supply chains, and expand joint investment activities.
According to the Prime Minister, Vietnam encourages Polish firms to explore and increase investments in renewable energy, smart agriculture, digital transformation, railways, shipbuilding, and environmental protection paired with technology transfer. These fields align closely with Vietnam’s sustainable development priorities.
Furthermore, he urged both nations to coordinate closely to review and promptly remove barriers regarding institutions, policies, investment procedures, immigration, and customs.

The head of government also expressed hopes that Vietnam and Poland will bolster transport links to connect markets and satisfy travel, trade, and investment demands. He asked Poland to facilitate Vietnamese firms entering manufacturing and supply chains, prioritize hiring and training local personnel, and commit to long-term investment cooperation.
The resumption of direct Warsaw–Hanoi flights by Polish national carrier LOT Polish Airlines starting March 31, 2027, illustrates this growing connectivity. However, the Prime Minister requested relevant agencies to diversify links between the two economies via air, sea, and rail to complement traditional Asia–Europe maritime routes.
Beyond passenger flights, LOT leadership expressed strong interest in developing bilateral air cargo services to open another direct logistics route between Vietnam, Poland, and Central Europe.
From the Polish side, Prime Minister Donald Tusk described Vietnam as one of Asia’s fastest-growing economies and a critical link in global supply chains. Concurrently, Vietnam remains Poland’s largest trading partner in Southeast Asia.
However, the Polish Prime Minister observed that current trade and investment levels fall short of the true potential of both economies. Consequently, Mr. Donald Tusk urged joint efforts to boost and diversify bilateral trade volumes, open new export avenues, and improve conditions for capital investment.

The Polish leader outlined several sectors holding immense promise for deeper bilateral collaboration. In pharmaceuticals, Mr. Donald Tusk noted that Poland can effectively bolster the development of the Vietnamese market.
He cited the ongoing investment by Adamed Pharma, which paired capital with manufacturing facility expansions, technological upgrades, and quality improvements. The leading Polish pharmaceutical group has operated in Vietnam since 2017 with a local production plant. He remarked that upcoming pharmaceutical cooperation could focus on joint research, development, production, and exporting medicines across regional markets.
Additionally, Mr. Donald Tusk proposed expanding cooperation into defense and dual-use technologies. According to the Polish Prime Minister, aerospace and artificial intelligence (AI) also present vast untapped potential.
He noted that Poland is steadily developing capabilities in satellite technologies, optics, and data analytics. “We can collaborate in Earth observation, satellite data analytics, and their practical applications in agriculture, water resource management, environmental protection, and infrastructure management,” the Polish leader stated.

Mr. Donald Tusk affirmed the desire for Vietnamese and Polish enterprises not merely to supply technology, but to co-develop novel solutions, build capacity, and commercialize these products globally. According to the Polish leader, both nations must advance from conventional trade into deeper industrial and investment integration.
Vietnam and Poland established diplomatic relations on February 4, 1950. Marking the upgrade to a Strategic Partnership during Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s official visit to Vietnam, the two nations target raising bilateral trade turnover to 6 billion USD by 2030.
