If you stop for a moment to look around you, you will always find something to admire about Vietnam. From the stunning beaches to the surrounding nature, this country scores significant points for beauty.
The problem is, we don’t always stop to appreciate what is around us. This is especially so when we get so caught up in the thoughts going through our minds. When our thoughts become the only thing we notice, we end up with a narrator telling us how we should interpret the world. When this happens, things start going downhill, and we end up with the all too unpleasant state of anxiety.
Vietnam And Anxiety
Vietnam has its share of people suffering from anxiety, and the research proves it. Problems of anxiety, stress, depression, and suicide are common among secondary school students in Vietnam. A 2013 study showed that 26.3 percent of secondary students had contemplated suicide, with 3.8 percent attempting to end their life.
The youth of Vietnam aren’t the only ones suffering from mental health issues. There are Vietnam veterans who are still suffering from PTSD symptoms, more than 40 years after the war ended.
Anxiety is common in Vietnam, and that should make anyone going through it feel less alone. Except this mental disease does not work this way. Knowing others are going through what you are going through isn’t enough to make you feel better because anxiety can you feel like you are alone in the world.
Taking comfort in knowing you are not alone is an excellent first step to improve your mental well-being. Nevertheless, you cannot stop here. It would help if you found other ways to treat anxiety so that it does not prevent you from leading the life you want.
Three Simple Ways To Treat Anxiety
1. Use Natural Tools
There are several essential tools you can use to ease your anxiety. Most likely, you are taking these beneficial tools for granted, and you are missing out on some great benefits. Superfoods are just one example. The Mediterranean diet is excellent for fighting anxiety as it is rich in fish, olive oil, vibrant greens, and healthy grains.
Aromatherapy is another essential tool that can help you ease anxiety. The right essential oils will boost your mood, decelerate an excited heart rate, help you sleep more comfortably, and, most importantly, get you to relax. Experts suggest chamomile, lavender, ylang-ylang, lemon balm, fennel, marjoram, and rose as some of the best aromatherapy oils for anxiety.
CBD gummies can help ease your anxiety. While research on marijuana is still in its early stages, researchers have found positive CBD effects on anxiety.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a type of cannabinoid, but unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), it will not make you feel high. Instead, CBD offers a more subtle release where users have expressed feeling more at ease. CBD is one remedy for anxiety, if you are looking for one, check Salt Leaf Hemp.

2. Exercise
The benefits of working out are various. Weight loss, better posture, and less risk of chronic diseases are just three of the advantages. Yet, exercise has also been proven to help with anxiety disorders. Researchers have found that people who work out regularly and have an active lifestyle have lower rates of anxiety than those who have more of a sedentary lifestyle.
The mental release that exercise provides is crucial for lowering stress and minimizing the risk of anxiety and depression. Working out helps us take mental breaks so that we can deal better with our fears. The numbers are firmly in favor of exercise. Researchers have found that people who perform intense workouts are 25 percent less likely to suffer from anxiety and depression.
3. Meditate
When you suffer from severe anxiety, you can often feel trapped in your mind and only listen to what the inner narrator is telling you. Accordingly, having a mental release from your thoughts is essential to lower your anxiety.
This is where meditation can help. The latter is an ancient ritual that intimidates many people, and yet, it is the most critical thing you can do to ease your anxiety. You can buy cannabis and take it before your meditation session to relieve stress.
Meditation does not cost anything. You can do it anywhere you want, and you do not have to meditate for hours to start feeling more peaceful. It does not have to be complicated either. You can use apps to learn how to meditate correctly. Some of the best meditation apps include Headspace and Calm. If you are lucky, you can find a spiritual teacher who can teach you proper meditation and even guide you to choose the right mantra.
Moreover, you do not need to sit cross-legged in a quiet room to meditate. Instead, you can choose to practice the art of being in a constant meditative state. What this means is learning how to be continually focused on the present moment. In doing so, you would be ignoring the thoughts going through your mind, trying to pull you to bad past experiences or future fears.
If you practice long enough the art of being in a constant meditative state, you will start catching glimpses of peace throughout your day. The best part is that if you do get lost and allow your anxious mind to take over again, all you have to do is take a full deep breath and come back to your present moment.
Learning to live with anxiety
As hard as it is to believe, anxiety can be a positive thing in your life. It is an opportunity for you to develop empathy. It is a way for you to realize how anxious others around you may be feeling. While anxiety can make you feel like you are the only one suffering, it is essential to remember that whether it is a low or a high level, we all suffer from some form of anxiety.
Still, you do not need to let anxiety control your life. Start by accepting it as being part of your life, part of the background noise. It is a narrative in your mind that may bug you more than you would like it to, but you can choose not to believe it.
Remember that you do not have to believe everything your mind tells you because you are more than your thoughts. You are also more than your emotions. You have an inner being that goes beyond your thoughts and feelings. This being is constant, and if you practice being present as much as possible, you will start catching glimpses of this peaceful inner you.
