A heat spell has been forecasted to affect the northern and central regions from tomorrow, April 18.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, some localities in the northern and central region would experience hot weather from today, April 17.
The highest temperature of northwestern localities would be 31 and 35 degrees centigrade. While northeastern cities and provinces, including Hanoi, would have the highest temperature of 28 degrees centigrade and rains.
The same weather would be seen for localities from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue provinces.
In several days to come, northwestern and northern central localities would face hotter weather with the temperature of 33-44 degrees centigrade. Some will even experience temperatures of 36 degrees centigrade.
The centre reported that this year would be among the hottest years.
Hot spells appeared in some northwestern and central regions of Vietnam in early March. In Vietnam, the average temperature of March increased by 1.5-2.5 degree centigrade against the level of many previous years. The southern region has been struggling with hot weather since late March.
The average temperature in the country between May and October this year would be 0.5-1 degrees centigrade higher than usual.
