HSBC appoints its new head of international subsidiary banking in Vietnam

HSBC has appointed Joonsuk Park as its head of International Subsidiary Banking of Wholesale Banking in Vietnam. Prior to this, Park was head of Multinational Corporates (MNCs) at HSBC Korea.

According to a statement released on January 14, this is part of HSBC’s strategy to actively support multinational companies, especially Korean corporations that are increasing their investments in Vietnam.

With Park on the ground, HSBC expects to deliver financial services more efficiently to Korean corporations that already have production facilities in Vietnam as well as those that are entering the market. The Saigon Times reports.

Park’s years of experience in global banking will contribute to deepening HSBC’s relationships with MNC clients and his deep understanding of Korean corporations will be valuable in his new role.

According to The Saigon Times, Park joined HSBC Korea since 2006 from KPMG. After serving as the Global Relationship Manager for Korean corporations and financial institutions, he assumed the role of head of MNCs in 2014 and has led the team since.

He has excellent customer management skills and has made significant contributions to the growth of the MNC business in Korea.

HSBC is one of the largest foreign banks in Vietnam and has a network of 14 outlets across the country including in HCMC, Hanoi, Danang and Binh Duong, which offers a broad range of financial services including corporate lending, trade finance, cash management and market services.
