On October 21, the Hanoi Municipal Police Department coordinated efforts to verify and investigate the actions of the male student. He is currently being held in temporary custody by the Noi Bai Commune Police.
According to a preliminary incident report submitted to the Noi Bai Commune Party Committee, the altercation occurred on the morning of October 19 in a 12th-grade classroom at Mac Dinh Chi High School. During a review of the previous lesson, the math teacher, who also serves as the homeroom teacher, identified the male student and several peers for failing to complete their homework. The students were subsequently instructed to stand at the upper corner of the classroom.
While the group stood listening to the teacher continue her lecture near the classroom entrance, one male student abruptly lunged forward, striking the teacher forcefully on the head. Staggering backward toward the teacher’s podium, she was subjected to continued blows by the student.
Several classmates shouted, “What are you doing?”, intervening to restrain the student and assist the teacher. Bloodstains were visible on the classroom floor, stretching from the teacher’s desk toward the exit.
The teacher is currently recuperating at home in stable physical health and emotional condition, and she is expected to return to school within the next few days.
Mac Dinh Chi High School is a private institution founded in 1998, situated in the former Soc Son District, now Noi Bai Commune. In recent years, the school has enrolled roughly 500 to 600 tenth-grade students annually.
