Over 10 million Vietnamese travel domestically during Tet

Below are the top 10 localities that received the highest number of tourists and generated the highest revenue during the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday. Specifically, Ho Chi Minh City estimated to welcome 1.8 million tourists, an increase of 5.9%; the total revenue from tourists was estimated at 6,550 billion VND, an increase of 4% compared to the same period in 2023.

Quang Ninh welcomed 803,570 tourists, an increase of 56%. Hanoi received 653,000 tourists, an increase of 21.6%; the total revenue from tourists was estimated at 2,350 billion VND, an increase of 35.1%.

Thanh Hoa estimated to welcome 635,000 tourists, an increase of 48.7%; the total revenue from tourists was estimated at 588 billion VND, an increase of 51.2%. Khanh Hoa estimated to welcome 630,300 tourists, including 191,000 overnight tourists, an increase of 25.8%; the total revenue from tourists was estimated to be nearly 878 billion VND.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau estimated to welcome 592,650 tourists, an increase of 36.0%; the total revenue from tourists was over 409 billion VND, an increase of 12.7%. Ninh Binh received 580,000 tourists, an increase of 46%. Tay Ninh estimated to welcome 520,720 tourists, an increase of 3.7%; the total revenue from tourists reached 376 billion VND, an increase of 55%.

Da Nang estimated to welcome 402,000 tourists, an increase of 37%; the total revenue from tourists was estimated to be around 1,580 billion VND. Quang Nam estimated to welcome 305,000 tourists, an increase of 35%; the total revenue from tourists was estimated to be around 1,580 billion VND. Kien Giang estimated to welcome 270,230 tourists, an increase of 26.4%; the total revenue from tourists was 928 billion VND; the room occupancy rate reached 66.3%.

In addition, localities also saw a significant increase in international visitors, including Da Nang, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Quang Nam, Quang Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, and Kien Giang…
