Coastal locations and cooler climates are leading the search trends. Da Lat is always the top destination for Vietnamese tourists who want to escape the heat
Moreover, 82% of domestic travelers prefer waterfront locations for their relaxing qualities. The Woo X RWA Earn Vaults have been built in partnership with institutional tokenization firm OpenTrade.
Woo X is claiming bragging rights for being the first cryptocurrency exchange to offer retail customers exposure to tokenized U.S. Treasury bills.
The yield-bearing product, unveiled on Monday, called RWA Earn Vaults (as in real-world assets) has been built in partnership with London-based institutional tokenization platform OpenTrade. The product’s arrival was described as a “significant milestone” by Woo X Chief Operating Officer Willy Chuang.
“For the first time, retail users on a centralized exchange can instantly access an interest-bearing account backed by U.S. Treasury Bills,” Chuang said in an email. “This initiative bridges a crucial gap between traditional financial securities and the dynamic world of cryptocurrency, offering our users an unprecedented opportunity to engage with low-risk, high-quality financial assets in a seamless, secure, and efficient manner.”
Tokenization – especially involving bank-grade assets like U.S. Treasuries – has become popular, partly in response to interest rate increases, and now dovetailing with the current crypto bull run. Last year, crypto investment platform Finblox said it was planning to offer retail users access to tokenized T-Bills.
OpenTrade has links to Center, the now-dissolved collaboration between USDC issuer Circle, and, going further back, the Marco Polo enterprise blockchain project.
Woo X recently introduced index-linked perpetuals covering crypto meme coins and layer-2 tokens, in association with market maker Wintermute.
The Thai SEC cited earlier decisions by nations like India and the Philippines in blocking unauthorized platforms.
Authorities in Thailand have decided to block “unauthorized” crypto platforms to increase the efficiency of law enforcement in solving the problem of online crime, according to an announcement on Friday.
After a meeting of the Technology Crime Prevention and Suppression Committee, Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission or SEC was ordered to submit information on unauthorized digital asset service providers to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society to block access to the platforms.
The SEC has considered the impact on users, and will give them time to manage their accounts before being unable to use the service, the announcement said.
“Therefore, the SEC requests users of the said platform to quickly withdraw their assets from the platform,” the announcement said. The Thai SEC also cited earlier decisions by nations like India and the Philippines in blocking unauthorized platforms.
Thailand’s regulators have been attempting to find the balance between supporting the crypto ecosystem and preventing fraud. On the one hand, it has allowed institutional investors and very high-net-worth individuals to invest in crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and allowed retail investors to invest without limits in digital tokens backed by real estate or infrastructure, but on the other hand, it has said custodians need to have a contingency plan if something goes wrong.
During this period, Hanoi City witnessed a staggering 89 fires, comprising 14 medium-scale incidents and 75 smaller ones. Though fortunately devoid of any human casualties, the blazes inflicted property damages amounting to an estimated 398 million VND, with ongoing assessments.
Moreover, the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police responded to 16 rescue calls, actively engaging in 11 operations and successfully saving four individuals, while recovering the bodies of three others.
Analyzing the data, it’s evident that urban districts bore the brunt, accounting for a significant 58.43% of the total incidents, totaling 52 cases. Of these, residential homes constituted a substantial portion at 69.35%, comprising 43 cases. Additionally, properties serving dual purposes of residence and commerce contributed six cases (9.68%), with four cases stemming from various warehouses and business establishments.
Responding swiftly to the crisis, the Fire and Rescue Police mobilized a formidable force of 82 vehicles and 527 officers and soldiers to combat the blazes throughout April 2024.
Despite the efforts, investigations into 77 out of the 89 fires remain ongoing, with the primary culprit still identified as system and electrical equipment failures, making up 90.9% of cases.
As temperatures soar, causing higher electricity usage, the Hanoi City Police issue a stern warning, advising residents to conduct regular inspections of electrical systems and equipment, refrain from overloading power outlets, maintain a safe distance of at least 0.5 meters from flammable materials, and avoid overnight charging of electronic devices. Furthermore, they emphasize the importance of switching off electrical appliances when not in use or when leaving the premises.
In case of a fire emergency, prompt action is paramount—raise the alarm, and immediately dial 114 to summon the Fire and Rescue Police or contact the nearest ward police station.

The furniture & home decor industries have witnessed a significant transformation with the advent of affordable products, altering consumer buying habits and the market landscape. This shift towards cost-effective options has been driven by several factors, including advancements in manufacturing processes and materials, such as the introduction of plywood, medium-density fiberboard (MDF), and particle board, which have played pivotal roles in reducing costs while impacting durability.
A recent documentary delves into the captivating realm of ‘Made in Vietnam’ products, exploring innovative trends and insights from top industry leaders, including Confomara and Maisons du Monde, two prominent French retailers. It examines consumer preferences and Vietnam’s impact on the global market.

How Global Sourcing Works
Global sourcing has revolutionized the furniture industry, transforming it from a local to a global enterprise. This strategic shift allows companies to leverage the strengths of different regions, creating a symbiotic network that enhances both the quality and affordability of their products. Companies consider various factors such as the availability of raw materials, labor skills, production costs, and political stability.
Vietnam has emerged in the global furniture market, thanks to its rich heritage of craftsmanship and a workforce renowned for precision and artistry. The country’s commitment to quality resonates through its products, which are not only durable but also embody the beauty of skilled handiwork. Vietnamese artisans are adept at transforming conceptual designs into tangible, high-quality furniture that captures the essence of both traditional and contemporary styles.
The agility of Vietnam’s manufacturing sector is a testament to its infrastructure’s sophistication, enabling rapid adaptation to market trends and consumer preferences. Cost-effectiveness is another cornerstone of Vietnam’s global sourcing appeal. This cost advantage is passed on to consumers, who benefit from a wider selection of affordable, design-forward furniture. It’s a win-win scenario that bolsters the industry’s growth while providing value to the end-user.
Case Study: Maisons du Monde
In the competitive world of furniture retail, Maisons du Monde stands out as a beacon of success, demonstrating the substantial advantages of global sourcing. This French furniture brand has carved a niche for itself by offering an eclectic mix of trendy and premium pieces, a strategy that has resonated well with the modern consumer’s desire for variety and value.
Vietnam has become an attractive destination for companies looking to diversify their supply chains. For Maisons du Monde, this means access to a plethora of styles ranging from contemporary to classic, industrial to bohemian, all while maintaining a price point that is accessible to a broad audience.
The impact of this strategy is multifaceted. The company’s global sourcing strategy has implications beyond just product assortment and pricing. It reflects a business model that is sustainable, adaptive, and responsive to the global market dynamics. By leveraging the strengths of different regions, Maisons du Monde is able to mitigate risks, such as those associated with over-reliance on a single supplier or market fluctuations. This strategic diversification ensures a steady flow of products and a resilience that is crucial in today’s ever-changing economic landscape.
As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, such strategies are likely to become the norm, with more businesses following in the footsteps of Maisons du Monde to meet the demands of the contemporary consumer.
The Future of Global Sourcing
The furniture industry, a significant player in global sourcing, stands at a crossroads. The traditional model, often criticized for its environmental and social shortcomings, is being challenged by a new paradigm of responsible sourcing. This emerging trend emphasizes the need for sustainable practices that encompass the entire supply chain, from raw material procurement to end-of-life product management.
Companies are increasingly recognizing that responsible sourcing is not just a moral imperative but also a strategic advantage. By minimizing environmental impact through reduced waste, energy efficiency, and sustainable materials, businesses are not only contributing to the planet’s well-being but also enhancing their brand reputation and customer loyalty. Similarly, ensuring fair labor practices is not merely about compliance with regulations; it’s about building a resilient and motivated workforce, which is key to long-term success.
Looking ahead, the future landscape of global sourcing is poised to become more sustainable and ethical. The integration of circular economy principles, where products are designed for reuse and recycling, is gaining traction. Innovations in logistics, such as electric vehicles and optimized routing, are set to reduce the carbon footprint further. And as consumer awareness grows, the demand for sustainably sourced products will continue to rise, driving more industries to adopt responsible practices.
For those who are considering starting production in Vietnam, engaging a professional sourcing agent can be a game-changer.
With their extensive experience and deep understanding of the Vietnamese market, a sourcing agency can help you navigate the complexities of global sourcing. They can connect you with reliable local suppliers, streamline your production process, and ensure your products meet the highest quality standards.
