The revenue from accommodation services alone is estimated at VND 893.6 billion, showing a surge of 3.3% from the previous month and an impressive 32.8% from the same period in 2023. Simultaneously, the revenue from food services reached VND 1,281 billion, rising by 7.3% from the previous month and 7.4% from the same period last year. The overall revenue from food and accommodation services for the first quarter of 2024 is estimated to have increased by 19.8% compared to the same period last year.

The total number of visitors served by accommodation establishments in the first quarter of 2024 reached an estimated 1,885,000, marking a significant uptick of 23.4% compared to the same period last year. Notably, the implementation of the visa policy on August 15, 2023, which extended the temporary stay period for international tourists to 90 days, has played a pivotal role in attracting international visitors to Da Nang in early 2024.

Crypto Exchange Bitget Joins Meme Coin Hype, Issues Token That Rises 14,000%

Advertisements

The token’s rise comes alongside a wave of trading volume.

A meme coin issued by cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has surged by more than 14,000% to a $31 million market cap hours after being released.

The ticker for the token, which was issued on Base network, is MOEW, and it is currently trading at $0.0028 on the back of $34 million worth of trading volume, CoinMarketCap data shows. 11,700 individual wallets currently hold MOEW, according to Basescan.

“Just for funsies, nothing too serious. We wanna see what the power of memes can do,” Bitget wrote on social media platform X.

Base is rapidly emerging as a leading venue for meme coin traders as it attempts to steal the thunder from Solana, which has been the primary blockchain for memes so far in this bull market cycle.

The largest meme coin on Base is Brett (BRETT), a token that is based on a character from Matt Furie’s Boy’s club comic. Brett has increased in value by 89% in the past week, while MOEW has already recorded double the volume Brett has racked up in the past 24 hours.

Meme coins are volatile assets by nature as they have no underlying value or utilities. Several meme coins like WIF have achieved a market cap of above $1 billion in the past year, while many others have petered out to zero amid a wave of rug pulls.

UK Regulators Publish Draft Guidance on Digital Securities Sandbox Open to DLT

Advertisements

The DSS will last five years and could lead to a new regulatory regime for securities settlement.

The Bank of England (BoE) and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) started a consultation on the draft guidance for their digital securities sandbox, which is designed to allow participants to test distributed ledger technology (DLT) in financial services.

The sandbox – a controlled environment where firms can test their products – is planned to last five years and could lead to a new regulatory regime for securities settlement, the regulators said on Wednesday.

“The Digital Securities Sandbox is an important tool for regulators to learn how we need to react to benefit safely from developments in technology and changes to vital financial market processes such as securities settlement,” Sasha Mills, the BOE’s executive director for financial market infrastructure, said in a statement.

Successful applicants to use the sandbox will be able to provide securities depository and settlement services as well as operate a trading venue under modified regulations. Participants will be able to use DLT in the trading and settlement of digital securities such as shares and bonds.

The U.K. has taken steps in recent months toward becoming a crypto hub, including ushering in legislation to enable crypto to be treated as a regulated financial activity. The U.K. brought in legislation enabling the FCA and the BOE to run the sandbox in December.

The consultation, which runs until May 29, follows an earlier feedback period last year. The regulators plan to issue final guidance and start processing applications toward the end of the second quarter.

5 Essential Tips For Using Shampoo To Manage Dermatitis

5 Essential Tips For Using Shampoo To Manage Dermatitis

Dealing with dermatitis, also known as eczema, on the scalp can be unpleasant and uncomfortable. However, with the proper shampoo selection and washing techniques, you can effectively manage scalp dermatitis. Shampoo is one of the most essential products for keeping dermatitis under control.

Here are five essential tips for using shampoo to care for irritated, inflamed skin on the scalp.

Tip 1 – Apply Shampoo Only to Scalp and Rinse Well

One important tip is to apply shampoo only to the scalp area affected by dermatitis and rinse it out thoroughly. Dermatitis can make skin extra dry and flaky. Over-applying shampoo to longer hair lengths risks removing too much natural oils. This leaves hair and skin feeling tight and dehydrated.

However, thoroughly rinsing out any cleanser residues from the scalp and hair is equally important. Any leftover product can continue irritating a sensitive scalp.

To properly cleanse the scalp, start by wetting hair thoroughly with lukewarm water. Then squeeze out a nickel to quarter-sized amount of gentle shampoo onto your fingertips. Massage this directly onto the flakes, scales or raised patches of irritated skin on the scalp. Avoid lathering shampoo all over hair lengths.

Instead, focus the cleansing massage in the areas where dermatitis occurs. Once the product has been worked in, rinse thoroughly with cool water to remove any traces of shampoo.

Making sure to apply shampoo for dermatitis UK judiciously to only problem areas of the scalp is a vital hygiene habit for managing dermatitis. It prevents over-drying other skin while still cleansing inflamed patches.

Thorough rinsing also removes any residues that could otherwise continue exacerbating the skin condition. By following these steps and using the appropriate shampoo for dermatitis available in the UK, the shampooing process causes minimal irritation.

Tip 2 – Massage Gently With Shampoo When Washing

Be extremely careful not to over-scrub or excessively rub the irritated scalp when washing the shampoo out. Dermatitis causes the skin to become inflamed, cracked and extra sensitive. Vigorous scrubbing can worsen this tenderness and cause the rash and flaking to spread or intensify.

However, it’s still essential to work shampoo thoroughly through the hair to remove oils, pollutants and microbes that could prolong or retrigger a flare-up.

The trick is to use light fingertips instead of fingernails to massage shampoo into a lather gently across the entire scalp. Rinse by pouring conditioner or water over the head with cupped hands, avoiding direct pressure or rubbing.

Taking time to soothe, not scrub, helps shampoo remove buildup without aggravating dermatitis. This balanced approach keeps the scalp clean while minimizing added trauma that holds recovery back.

Tip 3 – Condition Regularly to Supplement Moisture

Dermatitis patients must keep the scalp hydrated, as dry, flaky skin is more prone to irritation and cracking. Look for conditioners containing moisturizing proteins, ceramides and hydrating agents like glycerin—these work to replenish moisture levels after cleansing. Conditioning also forms a protective layer on hairs and follicles, guarding against future irritants that can trigger a flare.

Liberally apply conditioner from roots to ends after every shampoo, taking time to work it through gently. For severe dermatitis, try a leave-in conditioner or hair mask to provide extra nourishment. Coconut-based conditioners like SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus work wonders for hydrating without residue.

Tip 4 – Consider Medicated or Therapeutic Shampoo

For moderate to severe dermatitis, over-the-counter shampoos may not provide enough anti-inflammatory or antifungal properties to control a flare-up. In these cases, a prescription medicated or therapeutic shampoo could offer more substantial relief.

Formulas containing ingredients like ketoconazole (Nizoral), selenium sulfide (Selsun Blue) or coal tar work to reduce itch, flaking and microbe overgrowth.

These clinical-strength cleansers are exclusively available by prescription from a dermatologist. They often combine antifungals and antibacterials with moisturizing properties to simultaneously fight dermatitis causes and calm symptoms.

Tip 5- Limit Shampooing When Scalp is Healed

Once a flare settles, it’s wise to scale back shampoo frequency even further to maintain healthy scalp hydration levels. Over-cleansing, especially with harsh formulas, strips too much oil leading to compensatory overproduction and exacerbated symptoms down the line. Limiting washes to 1-2 times weekly allows natural oils to replenish the protective acid mantle.

On non-wash days, rinse with water and reapply the conditioner. For very dry or easily irritated scalps, try co-washing using just conditioner to gently remove buildup without stripping natural fats. Listen to your scalp – if it feels balanced and flake-free between washes, stick to less frequent cleansing.

Conclusion

Making hydration a priority, avoiding harsh ingredients and limiting over-washing are vital tactics. Medicated shampoos quickly curb severe symptoms until the scalp heals. Home remedies deliver extra anti-itch and moisture-restoring benefits too.

Combining therapeutic shampoos with soothing natural solutions provides scalp dermatitis the customized TLC it requires. Adhering to a tailored regimen and listening closely to warning signs keeps the condition in remission long-term without significant disruptions. Empowering scalp health is within reach for dermatitis patients.

Vietnamese tourists travel spontaneously just to see cherry blossoms

The survey conducted by Klook reveals that many Vietnamese travelers plan to visit cherry blossom destinations within just one month or even less before departure.

Japan is an ideal destination for cherry blossom viewing. Photo: Klook.

According to Klook’s survey – an e-commerce platform for travel experiences and services – 87% of Asia-Pacific travelers are willing to embark on a trip to cherry blossom destinations solely to admire the blooming flowers.

For travelers planning dedicated cherry blossom trips, most of them plan approximately three months in advance, with intentions to stay at the destination for about two weeks.

Compared to travelers from other countries in the region, Vietnamese travelers demonstrate a more spontaneous approach, with 42% of them (compared to the Asia-Pacific average of 27%) planning cherry blossom trips within just one month or even less before departure.

This spontaneity is also reflected in how Vietnamese travelers plan their accommodations. Nearly half of Vietnamese travelers opt for short vacations of under a week (compared to the Asia-Pacific average of 35%).

The most crucial factor in planning cherry blossom trips for Vietnamese travelers is “blossom viewing spots” (62%). Other factors such as duration of stay, expenses, destination experiences, and transportation also play equally significant roles.

The survey by Klook also highlights Japan as the top destination for cherry blossom viewing, chosen by 76% of Asia-Pacific travelers.

According to the Japan Meteorological Corporation’s forecast, the cherry blossom season in 2024 will be at its best from late March to early April. In 2023, the Japan National Tourism Organization stated that over 658,000 Vietnamese tourists visited Japan, with about 200,000 choosing to visit during the cherry blossom festival in March and April.

This year, the number is expected to increase, as in February 2024 alone, more than 60,000 Vietnamese tourists visited Japan, marking an 8% increase compared to the same period in 2023 and a 53% increase compared to 2019.

According to the Japan National Tourism Organization’s promotion agency in Vietnam (JNTO), this is the highest figure to date (on a monthly basis), surpassing the previous record of 55,800 visitors in February 2023. Moreover, this is the first time the number of Vietnamese visitors to Japan has exceeded 60,000 per month.

According to Klook’s survey, most travelers not only want to simply admire cherry blossoms at a fixed location but also seek a holistic experience and explore various aspects of this year’s cherry blossom season. Among them, 8 out of 10 travelers intend to explore multiple cities within the same country and are willing to travel up to 60 minutes away from the city center to visit famous blossom viewing spots.

The survey results also show that families are the most chosen companions for cherry blossom trips among travelers.

A series of famous tourist and entertainment destinations in the city such as Sun World Ba Na Hills, Asia Park… will host numerous festivals, music events, and art performances during this fireworks season.

Furthermore, this year, Da Nang will organize shows featuring adventurous sports art performances Jetski and Flyboards, performed by Australia’s H2O producer. This is a highlight that sets DIFF 2024 apart from previous seasons.

DIFF 2024 marks the 12th edition of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival held on the banks of the Han River. In the most recent edition in the summer of 2023, DIFF was seen as a “magnet” attracting visitors to Da Nang, helping the tourism industry of the Han River city to thrive after Covid-19.

During the festival period in June 2023, the total number of guests served in accommodation establishments reached nearly 706,000, an increase of 34% compared to the same period in 2022. The room occupancy rate during this period regularly reached 70%; revenue from accommodation and dining services reached 1.874 trillion VND. The number of flights to Da Nang during this period reached up to 150 flights/day (1.5 times higher than usual).

Surge in international visitor markets to Vietnam

Advertisements

After the pandemic, international arrivals to Vietnam surpassed pre-pandemic peaks in 2019, reaching over 4.6 million in the first quarter of 2024, up 3.2%.

This achievement is attributed to the remarkable growth in several tourist markets compared to the same period last year. Specifically, major markets in Northeast Asia continued to surge, serving as the primary driving force behind the recovery of international visitors to Vietnam. Particularly noteworthy, the Chinese market increased by 534.5% compared to the same period in 2023, Taiwan by 127.3%, South Korea by 52%, and Japan by 52.7%.

Nearby markets in Southeast Asia also exhibited strong growth, including Indonesia (118.5%), the Philippines (52.6%), Malaysia (24.6%), Cambodia (19.1%), and Singapore (8.6%).

Significantly, European tourist markets showed lively growth, with France up by 29.3%, Italy by 27.1%, the United Kingdom by 15.0%, Germany by 15.8%, among others. These markets benefited from Vietnam’s unilateral visa exemption policy with a temporary stay of up to 45 days.

Overall, international arrivals have nearly fully recovered and even increased compared to the first quarter of 2019 – the year Vietnam attracted the most international visitors in its history. Specifically, visitors from Australia reached 120% compared to the same period in 2019; Asia reached 104%, the Americas reached 103%, with the United States at 106%, and Europe nearly fully recovered, reaching 97%.

For the market that has historically led Vietnam’s tourism, China, after a 30% recovery in 2023 compared to 2019, the first three months of 2024 have seen a recovery rate of 69%, indicating positive signs.

Group of 10 largest tourist markets of Vietnam in the first quarter of 2024

Nguyen Duc Chi, a tourism expert, attributes the strong increase in international tourists to Vietnam in the first quarter to it being the peak season. However, he also acknowledges that policy factors such as the expanded e-visa to all countries and an extension to 90 days, as well as increased stay duration for 13 visa-exempt countries, have stimulated the return of tourists to Vietnam. Nevertheless, there have been structural changes in the tourist composition, with more independent travelers following global trends, while group tours or tour package travelers remain less prevalent, leading domestic travel companies to lament a shortage of customers. “I see English-speaking tour guides mostly catering to Western individual travelers, with fewer large groups. Our visa policies are perhaps attracting more independent travelers,” emphasized Mr. Chi.

Pacific Airlines has officially provided ground handling services to Bamboo Airways at Noi Bai Airport since April 1st. Previously, it served Bamboo Airways at Tan Son Nhat Airport.

All related tasks such as baggage handling, passenger transportation to/from terminals to aircraft, and vice versa on each flight are undertaken by Pacific Airlines.

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung, CEO of Pacific Airlines, the service time for flights on the morning of April 1st was completed earlier by 3-5 minutes.

Equipment such as buses has been refurbished, repainted, etc., to serve Bamboo Airways flights at Noi Bai. Baggage conveyor belts for passengers boarding the aircraft are also covered by tarps by Pacific Airlines to prevent rain and bad weather.

Previously, Vietnam Airlines CEO Le Hong Ha also shared about the cooperation between Bamboo Airways and Pacific Airlines in ground services at an event in late 2023.

According to Mr. Ha, Pacific Airlines has ground services departments at 3 airports: Noi Bai, Da Nang, and Tan Son Nhat. During the restructuring process, downsizing the flight crew, the airline also needs to handle its operations at these airports. Therefore, when Bamboo Airways has a demand, Pacific Airlines both supports and creates job opportunities for its staff.

Earlier, Bamboo Airways and ground services company SAGS officially ended their cooperation after 5 years since the first flights. Accordingly, Bamboo Airways will no longer use SAGS’ check-in services, baggage handling, passenger buses, etc.

The “farewell” between the airline and this ground service unit may be due to overdue payments from Bamboo Airways.

Recently, a source from Tri Thuc – Znews confirmed that Bamboo Airways has moved its office from The West building (Dich Vong Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi) to the golf course area of Tan Son Nhat, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City. The new office officially started operating on April 1st.

This is the next step of the airline in its comprehensive restructuring process.

Currently, the airline has returned all Embraer E190 aircraft and stopped all flights to Con Dao, Hue, Dong Hoi, leaving only 8 Airbus A320/321 aircraft to operate domestic flights such as HCMC – Hanoi/Da Nang… The airline plans to increase to 12-15 aircraft of the same type by the end of this year if financial conditions and market conditions are favorable.

Bamboo Airways aims to reduce its operating losses to below 1,000 billion VND from 4,000-5,000 billion VND/year in the past 5 years, aiming for break-even in 2025 and profitability in the following years.

The top spot in the ranking belongs to Ljubljana Airport in Slovenia, with the best wifi in the world rated at 4.46 out of 5 stars.

This airport offers free public wifi throughout, which was upgraded in 2021. Travelers praised it as “great to have unlimited free wifi without needing to log in, consistently stable even in the boarding tunnels.”

The list of airports with the best wifi includes many well-known names such as Hong Kong, Haneda, and Narita in Japan, Changi in Singapore, Taipei Taoyuan in Taiwan, and Helsinki Vantaa in Finland.

Electronics Hub also ranked the 20 airports with the worst wifi in the world. The bottom positions include two airports in Egypt, Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada, followed by Lagos (Nigeria), Grenoble (France), Dalaman (Turkey), Heraklion (Greece)…

Electronics Hub, operating since 2013, is a US-based technology information website providing content related to technology product reviews, DIY guides, technology explanations, etc. They claim to have 1 million regular readers per month, of which 60% are young people.

Electronics Hub uses data from Skytrax’s Airlines Quality. On this platform, Noi Bai Airport received an average score of 6/10 from 111 reviews. The “wifi connectivity” section garnered various opinions from passengers worldwide.

Recently, the Business Financing website (based in the UK) also announced that Noi Bai Airport surpassed famous airports like Singapore’s Changi to be voted as the best airport in the world.

This ranking result has surprised many and raised questions about the accuracy and credibility of the ranking entity. Businessfinancing.co.uk is a financial research and lending information website.
