Giáo sư Wu Depei, Chủ tịch Chi nhánh Huyết học của Hội Y học Trung Quốc, cho biết: “Phương pháp điều trị tế bào CAR-T đang phát triển mạnh mẽ, với mức độ nghiên cứu CAR-T tại Trung Quốc ở vị trí hàng đầu thế giới, và Trung Quốc là quốc gia có số lượng thử nghiệm lâm sàng CAR-T đăng ký nhiều nhất trên toàn cầu. Các bác sĩ tại các trung tâm điều trị ung thư máu ở Trung Quốc đã tích luỹ được nhiều kinh nghiệm trong việc áp dụng phương pháp điều trị CAR-T”.

Market Watch: Vietnam Stock Market Updates For November 20

The Vietnamese stock market experienced a significant decline in the VN-Index during the last session of the previous week, as selling pressure intensified from the resistance zone of MA50 at 1,135 points.

The VN-Index closed below the MA200 line at 1,115 points, returning to the declining market area, with the nearest support level at 1,080-1.085 points along the MA20 line.

Selling pressure surged suddenly in the afternoon session, causing the VN-Index to drop by 2.16%, and the trading volume on the HOSE exchange reached 1.26 billion shares (+82.7%). Despite efforts to rise in the high-price range during the morning session, buying power gradually weakened. Throughout the week, the VN-Index saw a slight decrease of 0.04% compared to the previous week.

All 30 stocks in the VN30 basket closed in the red, led by VCB, VIC, VHM, VPB, BID, HPG. Some low-capitalization stocks, especially in the Real Estate and Infrastructure sectors, still maintained positive performance. However, many other stocks in sectors such as Securities, Fertilizers, and Aquaculture witnessed strong selling pressure. Both VNMidcap and VNSmallcap decreased by 1.55% and 0.55%, respectively.

The HNX-Index decreased by 1.32%, with 106 red stocks on the HNX exchange, including CEO, HUT, L14, SHS, PVS, TNG. Foreign investors increased net selling, primarily in stocks such as VHM, STB, MWG, VCB, VPB, VRE, VIC.

Derivatives Trading Strategy:

1. Market Analysis:
– Contract F2312 showed a decreasing trend with significant fluctuations around the support level of 1,100 points.
– It is predicted that F2312 may retest this support level and continue the downward trend.

Airline ticket prices during Tet increases

Due to the high demand of the people during the peak period of the 2024 Lunar New Year (Tet), there are signs of a significant increase in airfare prices as the Tet holiday approaches.

According to a survey by VTV reporters, the airfare prices during Tet are more than 2 to nearly 3 times higher compared to the current period. A representative of this airline agency shared an example, such as a round-trip flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Quoc, where the airfare price if booked in December would be over 1,900,000 VND.

However, the prices will be nearly double, reaching over 3,800,000 VND if customers book in early February, during the Tet holiday. In some routes in provinces and cities with a large number of workers who want to return to their hometowns for Tet, the airfare prices may increase nearly threefold.

“The peak airfare prices will occur from around the 23rd day of the twelfth lunar month to about the 8th day of the Lunar New Year. This year’s Tet airfare prices are slightly higher than last year, about 10 – 15%, especially on routes from the South to the North,” said Mr. Bui Thanh Tu, the Marketing Director of BestPrice Travel Company.

Because of the high airfare prices during the peak period, many people have chosen railway routes as an alternative. The Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company stated that over 73,000 Tet Giap Thin train tickets have been sold.

Airline with the lowest flight delay rate from the beginning of the year until now

VASCO continues to be the most punctual airline in the entire aviation industry in October, with only 4.1% of flights delayed, while the airline with the highest flight delay rate is at 24.5%.

According to information from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, in October, Vietnamese airlines operated 19,980 flights. Among them, the three airlines with the most flights were VietJet Air with 7,720 flights, Vietnam Airlines with 7,250 flights, and Bamboo Airways with 2,864 flights.

The remaining airlines, Pacific Airlines operated 1,270 flights, Vietravel with 441 flights, and VASCO with 435 flights.

Out of the flights operated by Vietnamese airlines, 16,846 were on time, accounting for 84.3%, an increase of 1.9 percentage points compared to the previous month. There were 3,134 delayed flights, accounting for 15.7%, a decrease of 1.9 percentage points from the previous month.

VietJet Air led in terms of delayed flights with 1,890 flights, accounting for a rate of 24.5% of the total flights operated by the airline.

The airline with the second-highest flight delay rate is Vietravel Airlines with 84 flights, accounting for 19.0%.

Pacific Airlines had 170 delayed flights, accounting for 13.4% of the total flights operated by the airline.

Vietnam Airlines had 756 delayed flights, accounting for 10.4% of the total flights operated by the airline.

Bamboo Airways had 216 delayed flights, accounting for 7.5% of the total flights operated by the airline.

VASCO remains the airline with the highest on-time departure (OTP) rate in the entire industry in October, with only 4.1% of flights delayed (18 flights operated by the airline). In recent months, this airline has consistently ranked first in terms of on-time flights.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the two main reasons for delayed takeoffs in October were late-arriving aircraft (1,873 flights, contributing 9.4% to the 15.7% of delayed flights) and airline-related issues (783 flights, contributing 3.9%).

In October, there were 22 canceled flights, accounting for 0.1%, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous month. The main reasons for flight cancellations in October were operational, commercial, technical, and other reasons.

YouTube requires AI content labeling

According to YouTube’s latest policy update, the platform will require content creators to label videos that use artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

According to PCMag, YouTube users must disclose if their videos contain content generated by AI. New options will allow creators to label their videos. Accounts that do not comply with this regulation will not be eligible for the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) and may have their videos removed.

The first label will be displayed on the description panel to classify whether the video is AI-generated or not. The second label will appear in the video player when the content addresses sensitive topics such as elections, conflicts, or community health crises.

YouTube claims to build accountability around AI tools and features

Experts express concerns that the proliferation of AI-generated tools could lead to an influx of misinformation on the internet, posing a threat to the U.S. presidential election in 2024.

YouTube will allow users to request the removal of AI-generated content that simulates their real faces or voices. However, the company will consider various factors before making a decision to remove content. If the content is satirical or involves government officials or celebrities, YouTube will apply stricter standards.

According to NY Post, YouTube stated that the company would provide specific guidelines along with examples when the regulations are implemented in 2024. The company is focusing on building a team and developing technology capable of moderating content on a large scale to ensure that YouTube’s AI tools generate appropriate content.

Despite many achievements, the Department of Tourism acknowledges that the tourism activities still face difficulties due to the prolonged impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Many travel agencies and hotels have not fully recovered, and the international tourism market has not returned to the level of 2019.

According to the Department, although the visa bottleneck has been alleviated with the implementation of e-visas in all markets, the reality is that visa application processes are still slow and not truly streamlined, causing a considerable amount of time to complete the procedures.

In comparison with other countries in the region, the number of countries granted visa exemptions by Vietnam (55) is still relatively low. The Department points out that Indonesia exempts visas for citizens of about 169 countries and territories, the Philippines for about 166, Malaysia for about 156, Singapore for 150, Thailand for about 60, and Brunei for about 54 countries and territories.

These factors lead to a decrease in the number of visitors from key markets, new markets, and potential markets due to high costs and time-consuming procedures. Consequently, tourists are gradually shifting to other direct competitors in the tourism sector, such as Thailand and Singapore.

To support and facilitate large international tourist groups coming to Vietnam, the Department of Tourism suggests that the Immigration Management Department (Ministry of Public Security) shorten the processing time for visa applications for travel agency groups directly, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism.

Airlines cut numerous flights, yet increase in flight delays

If in the first 10 months of 2022, Vietnam had 4 airlines with an OTP (On-Time Performance) rate above 90%, this year only 2 airlines have maintained this figure.

According to the latest report from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, in the past 10 months, the entire aviation industry operated a total of 241,177 flights, a decrease of nearly 20,000 flights compared to the same period in 2022.

Vietnam’s aviation industry is going through a difficult period

Despite the reduction in the number of flights, the on-time performance rate did not improve. Out of 241,177 flights, the Civil Aviation Authority recorded 204,816 on-time flights, equivalent to an OTP of 84.9%, a decrease from the average OTP of 89% in the first 10 months of 2022.

Specifically, if in the first 10 months of 2022, the entire aviation industry recognized 4 airlines with an average on-time performance above 90%, namely Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines, Vietravel Airlines, and VASCO, and no airline with OTP below 80%, then this year, only 2 airlines maintain an OTP above 90%, namely Bamboo Airways and VASCO.

Among them, Bamboo Airways has the highest on-time performance rate in the entire industry with 92.4% of flights on time; VASCO achieved an OTP of 91%.

Vietnam Airlines, Vietravel Airlines, and Pacific Airlines recorded OTP rates of 86.8%, 86.6%, and 84.4%, respectively. On the other hand, the flight cancellation rate of Vietnamese airlines during this period has decreased compared to the same period last year. In the first 10 months, only 0.3% of flights were canceled, a decrease of 0.1% compared to the same period. VASCO, Vietravel, and Vietnam Airlines had cancellation rates of 0.7%, 0.5%, and 0.4%, respectively. Vietjet Air canceled 0.3% of flights, Bamboo Airways canceled 0.2%, and Pacific Airlines canceled 0.1% of flights.

Currently, the entire aviation industry is focusing its resources on planning to serve passengers during the peak period at the end of the year and the 2024 Lunar New Year. In 2022, Vietnamese cinnamon accounted for 18.2% of global production but held a 34.4% share in the global cinnamon export market. Vietnam is also the world’s top exporter of cinnamon, with an export value exceeding USD 292 million.

According to the Vietnam Pepper Association, as of the end of October 2023, Vietnam exported 74,744 tons of cinnamon, generating USD 220.3 million, a 19.2% increase in volume but a 1.3% decrease in value compared to the same period last year. The average export price of cinnamon over the first 10 months was USD 2,948 per ton, a 17.2% decrease from the same period in 2022.

The primary export markets for Vietnamese cinnamon are India, holding a 43.9% market share, followed by the United States, Bangladesh, and others.

While cinnamon has significant export potential, it is also influenced by the trend of green and sustainable consumption, carbon reduction, and the need for source traceability. Quality assurance, especially regarding pesticide residues, is crucial. For example, the U.S. tightly regulates the use of prohibited substances.

Despite being the world leader in cinnamon exports, Vietnam lacks a clear national-level strategic direction for sustainable development and lacks mechanisms to conduct timely research to meet market demands.

The issue of seed quality remains unresolved, with no research on leading varieties. This is a key factor contributing to Vietnam’s cinnamon output being significantly lower than the global potential, especially compared to China.
