A one-year pilot program has been agreed upon by Vietnam and China to explore the Ban Gioc (Vietnam) – De Thien (China) waterfall landscape area. Meanwhile, FxPro Senior Market Analyst Alex Kuptsikevich told CoinDesk in an email that, generally, bearish sentiment remained intact among professional traders.

“The question is whether the recent dip will be the starting point for the next rally. Keep an eye on the activity near the recent highs; for now, the market is not allowed to go higher,” Kuptsikevich said.

“Despite the potential for a rebound, BTCUSD remains within the bearish momentum that has been in place since July, with lower and lower highs and lows,” he added. “Ether remains in a downtrend, although its intensity is decreasing.”

Temporarily suspending Banh Mi Phuong restaurant causing 91 people food poisoning

Digital Trading Platform MetaComp Offers Clients Stablecoin-to-TradFi Security Path, Claiming Singapore First43657

Trading volume has climbed to around $50 million since the service was introduced last month.

SINGAPORE – MetaComp, a digital asset platform, said it is offering clients the ability to buy traditional securities such as money market funds and U.S. Treasury bills for stablecoins – which it converts to fiat – in a first for Singapore.

The firm has accepted stablecoins tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC) from as many as 10 of its institutional and accredited investors, co-founder Bo Bai told CoinDesk in an interview Wednesday. The service kicked off last month and has already resulted in volumes of around $50 million. MetaComp is providing the service across Asia.

Stablecoins form the backbone of crypto trading. Tether is the most-traded cryptocurrency, with volume of $22.6 billion in the past 24 hours, more than bitcoin and ether – second and third placed respectively – combined, according to CoinMarketCap data. USDC is the fourth most traded, with $3.5 billion turnover.

“The industry needs a seamless platform that allows investors to allocate their assets smoothly between TradFi products such as money market funds and DeFi products such as bitcoin options,” Bai said, using industry terms for traditional finance and decentralized finance. “Step by step we allow investors to harness the benefits of both TradFi and DeFi products.”

Stablecoins, whose value is pegged against a real world asset such as the U.S. dollar, will have applications in the broader financial market, Bai said, and MetaComp is building its business under the assumption that they will penetrate into the real economy.

To provide the service, MetaComp and parent company MetaVerse Green Exchange need to hold three licenses from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the country’s central bank: Capital Markets Services Licence, Recognised Market Operator Licence and Major Payment Institution Licence.

“The three licenses together provide us the ability to provide the service, and as far as we know, we are the first to do so in Singapore,” Bai said. “As a licensed platform with securities, custodial services and digital payment token licenses, MetaComp and its parent company are dedicated to establish such a platform, which we call Client Asset Management Platform, to enable such a smooth asset allocation denominated in both fiat and stablecoins.”

The only other entity in Singapore that holds all three licenses is DBS Bank, said Bai. DBS’ head of digital assets, Evy Theunis, told CoinDesk the bank has not yet begun offering this service to clients.

MetaComp declined to provide the names of the investors, citing client confidentiality.

U.S. CPI Inflation Jumped to 3.7% in August, More Than Expected

VinFast will not disclose monthly sales figures

Auction of over 13 hectares of prime beachfront land in Vung Tau City

This land and water area has been managed by the Provincial Land Development Fund Development Center of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province since 2020. Currently, the land is vacant, primarily consisting of sandy beaches and water bodies.

Nghinh Phong Cape is a long stretch of land jutting out into the sea, located in the southern part of the Vung Tau Peninsula. The natural landscape here is very picturesque, with “the sea in front and the mountains behind,” making it a popular destination for tourists.

In addition to the aforementioned 13.8-hectare land, in the fourth quarter of 2023, the Provincial People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau has plans to auction three other land parcels. These include land in Bung Rieng commune, Xuyen Moc district; the old Tourism Market land in Thang Tam Ward; and land in Wards 10 and 11, Vung Tau City.

South Korean Daewon Group to invest in golf course, housing, and schools in Can Tho

Daewon Group (South Korea) is awaiting the urban planning of Can Tho City to explore investment opportunities in golf courses, mixed residential-commercial-service complexes, international schools, and more in Can Tho.

On September 12th, Mr. Duong Tan Hien, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People’s Committee, announced that the city had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Daewon Cantavil Pte., Ltd (a subsidiary of Daewon Group, South Korea) to collaborate and provide support in researching and implementing projects in Can Tho.

Daewon Cantavil Pte., Ltd has expressed interest in Can Tho’s investment projects, such as golf courses, high-rise and low-rise housing, mixed residential-commercial-service complexes, and international school projects.

Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in Vinh Thanh District, Can Tho City

Vice Chairman Duong Tan Hien also disclosed that the South Korean investors are awaiting the urban planning of Can Tho for the period 2021 – 2030, with a vision up to 2050, to plan their next steps more concretely. “With this memorandum in place, Can Tho City will create all necessary conditions for our partners to conduct research, propose projects… The next steps will be implemented after the city’s urban planning is approved. It is scheduled that by the end of this September, the City People’s Council will convene to approve it, followed by submission for government approval,” Mr. Hien stated.

Mr. Cheun EungSik, Chairman of Daewon Cantavil Pte., Ltd, assessed that Can Tho’s market holds significant potential, especially with the recent initiation of the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) project in Vinh Thanh commune, covering a total area of 900 hectares. The development of the industrial sector will drive urban development and housing demand, a field of special interest to Daewon Group.

Can Tho has also welcomed several large-scale projects with direct investment from South Korea, such as the Lotte Can Tho Integrated Commercial Center (Lotte Vietnam Trading Company Limited) and a sports shoe manufacturing factory (TKG TaeKwang Can Tho Co., Ltd) in recent times.
