Vietnam among top 10 countries with cheapest electric vehicle charging costs globally

Advertisements

According to statistics from the Compare The Market data organization, Vietnam ranks 5th among the top 10 countries with the cheapest electric charging costs in the world. It is worth noting that the price comparison is based on the Australian Dollar (AUD).

Specifically, Vietnam is ranked 5th among the surveyed countries, with an electric charging cost of only 1.55 AUD (almost 1 USD) to travel 100 kilometers. In addition, the fuel savings rate between electric and gasoline-powered vehicles in Vietnam is quite high at 83.51%.

Vietnam has the 5th cheapest electricity charging cost in the world.

According to the statistics, our country is only behind 4 other countries. Argentina has the cheapest electric charging cost in the world at just 0.7 AUD (0.45 USD). Converted to USD, the next countries with low charging costs include Malaysia (0.624 USD), India (0.92 USD), and the UAE (0.98 USD).

According to the research, Compare the Market used two versions of Hyundai Kona vehicles, electric and gasoline, for comparison. The electric version of Hyundai Kona uses a 39.2 kWh battery pack, providing a range of 305 km per charge.

Meanwhile, the gasoline-powered version is equipped with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, offering a maximum driving range of 806 km.

In the Vietnamese market, the electric car segment is expanding, with VinFast being the most prominent brand in this category.

VinFast owns a range of electric SUV products from sizes A-E.

Furthermore, well-established car manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW, and Hyundai are also moving towards electrifying vehicles in our country.

iPhone Mini production discontinued following iPhone 15 launch

Advertisements

The latest signs indicate that the production of the iPhone 13 mini seems to be discontinued following the appearance of the iPhone 15 series in the early morning of September 13 (Vietnam time), marking the end of this compact iPhone lineup.

According to BGR, not only the iPhone 13 mini, but Apple is also expected to discontinue several other iPhone models shortly after the release of the iPhone 15 series, including the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. This move doesn’t come as a surprise given Apple’s business practices, at least for long-time iPhone users. Users can still purchase these products through other carriers and retailers as long as they are in stock.

iPhone 13 will be the only iPhone 13 series member still sold after the launch of iPhone 15 series

Apple’s decision to retire the iPhone 13 mini is likely influenced by the continued availability of the iPhone SE 3. Apple has a tradition of reducing the prices of older iPhone models (if they continue to sell) by $100 after launching a new iPhone, which means the price of the iPhone 13 mini may drop to $499. This could impact the sales of the iPhone SE 3, which is priced starting from $429.

An examination of Apple’s stores reveals that not only is the supply of iPhone 13 mini running low, but Apple is also close to selling out of the iPhone 12, iPhone 14 Pro/14 Pro Max, Apple Watch Ultra, Watch bands, MagSafe cases, and leather wallets. This suggests that the company has no plans to restock these items after September 13.

Apple is expected to release the Apple Watch Ultra 2 later this year, so it’s not surprising that the first-generation model is disappearing. Similarly, the iPhone 12 has reached the end of its life cycle, and it seems like the same fate is occurring with the iPhone 13 mini.

Apple will continue to sell the iPhone 13 after the iPhone 15 series launch, and this phone may be priced at $599 with carrier discounts or $629 for the unlocked version.

Advertisements

The 2023 Mu Cang Chai Paragliding Festival will officially take place from September 15th to 18th, featuring numerous exciting activities. However, starting from early September, visitors have the opportunity to experience paragliding over the golden ripe rice terraces.

The paragliding take-off point in Khau Pha, Mu Cang Chai district, is situated at an altitude of over 1,200 meters above sea level, making it one of the most beautiful paragliding spots in Vietnam and the world. By experiencing paragliding, tourists can admire the beauty of the golden rice terraces and the majestic scenery of the Northwest mountains and forests.

This year, the 2023 Paragliding Festival, titled “Soaring over the Land of Mu Cang Chai’s Scenic Beauty,” officially kicked off at the beginning of September, with the main festival activities concentrated from September 15th to 18th.

During the festival, visitors can experience flying over the terraced fields using paragliders or ultralight aircraft. With paragliding, tourists soar accompanied by professional pilots, taking off from mountain peaks, utilizing wind and thermal currents to gain altitude and move around. With ultralight aircraft, pilots use engines for a smooth takeoff, independent of wind or terrain, requiring no runway or altitude gain.

The highlight of this year’s Paragliding Festival is the expanded Mebayluon Precision Landing Championship, featuring the largest scale and prize value to date.

The championship gathers over 100 professional paragliding pilots from various countries, competing in categories such as men’s individual, women’s individual, and teams. Pilots take off from Khau Pha Pass and land at Lim Mong village. The crucial factors determining the winners are precision and the pilot’s mastery of technique. The large and diverse participation of contestants from different nationalities increases the competition and attractiveness of the event.

Another distinctive feature of this year’s event is the paragliding performances from altitudes exceeding 3,000 meters and skydiving displays by Thai athletes. Besides the golden beauty of the rice fields, Mu Cang Chai is also adorned with colorful paragliders. The performing pilots are all top experts in the region, ensuring unforgettable impressions for visitors.

Photo: Mebayluon

In addition to paragliding activities, visitors to Mu Cang Chai during this time also have the opportunity to experience the unique local culture, such as learning how to make green rice flakes from ethnic minority people, soaking their feet in medicinal leaf water, and exploring the streams to admire the evening sunset.

Mr. Dang Van My, the paraglider pilot with the highest flight hours in Vietnam and the event organizer, stated: “We always strive to make the Mu Cang Chai Paragliding Festival bigger and more spectacular each year. To prepare for this year’s festival, we have completed several construction projects to make the Mu Cang Chai paragliding point as professional as international competition sites. I believe that adventurous travelers who love skydiving and the thrill of the skies will notice many differences when returning to Mu Cang Chai. I hope to contribute to making Mu Cang Chai a year-round tourist destination, not just during the rice harvest season.”

Cryptocurrency Altcoin Crash Is Coming: Matrixport

Advertisements

FTX is not the only major sell of crypto assets, venture capital funds are also under pressure to return money to their investors, the report said.

At least $3.4 billion worth of crypto is likely to be sold by FTX so it can return fiat currency to its users instead of tokens, which should create an overhang for altcoins for the rest of the year, Matrixport said in a report Monday.

The crypto services provider noted that FTX has said it wanted to sell $200 million worth of crypto assets a week. This means the bankrupt crypto exchange will continue to sell assets until the end of 2023.

Moreover, FTX isn’t the only major seller in the market. “Crypto venture capital (VC) funds are also under immense pressure to return funds to their investors,” wrote Markus Thielen, head of research. “Those VC funds are likely to remain as crucial sellers of altcoins and must cash out.”

Solana (SOL) has been dropping, spooked by the potential sales from FTX, and it’s not the only altcoin that is exposed.

There is also ApeCoin (APE), another crypto held by VC investors, which has an unlock scheduled for Sept. 17. That will account for 11% of outstanding tokens, the report said. Following the previous unlock of 4.2% APE on Aug. 17, prices have dropped by 24%. Since this one is larger, prices are expected to continue to decline.

Another sizable unlock planned for Oct. 20, is Axie Infinity’s token (AXS), when 11% will be released. Since the last such event, on July 22, AXS has declined by 32%, the report added.

This project has already been successfully implemented in the Northern and Southern regions and will now be expanded to the Central region, starting with Da Nang.

Hundred-year ceramic brick kilns in the Southwest of Vietnam

Advertisements

The Mekong Delta’s rivers serve a dual purpose – they provide nutrient-rich alluvium to the region’s fruit fields and orchards, and they also create flexible clay, which is crucial to the ceramic brick industry. While some of the area’s furnaces are now dilapidated and covered in moss and dust, they possess a timeless beauty.

The canal used to be bustling with boats ferrying raw materials and goods to and from the furnaces during prosperous times. Most of the products manufactured here are transported all over and exported to countries like Cambodia, Korea, and Thailand, making Mang Thit the largest producer of ceramic tiles in the Southwest.

The brick kilns in Mang Thit are built mainly with thousands of card bricks, forming architecture with a height of 9 – 13m. The furnace has a diameter of about 6 – 8m, is cylindrical, and gradually becomes smaller at the top.

Local kiln owners have mentioned that producing high-quality bricks requires numerous steps and more than a month. The clay is first kneaded and shaped into bricks before being dried. Nowadays, machines assist in this stage, making the process faster and less complex. Once the bricks are dry, it takes approximately 7 to 10 days to place them in the kiln. This step requires skilled individuals to ensure that the bricks cook evenly from top to bottom, despite the fire being lit only from below.

During its heyday in the 1980s, the whole “kingdom” had more than 1,000 production facilities with about 3,000 furnaces operating continuously.
Raw materials such as firewood and rice husks are continuously heated for 20 days in an active brick kiln to achieve high-quality bricks.

The brick-making profession in Mang Thit has gradually declined due to the unsuitability of traditional materials such as husk and firewood for social development, as well as the increased cost of raw materials. As a result, many families have replaced it with other occupations. Nevertheless, the unique architecture of the Mang Thit brick kiln has become a popular destination, attracting visitors from afar who come to take photos and learn about traditional crafts.

Currently, the Thay Cai canal area is where the most brick kilns remain in the Mang Thit district with nearly 1,000 kilns close together.
The old brick kilns are covered with green moss.

To capitalize on this interest, Vinh Long province has decided to preserve the old brick kilns and establish cultural, artistic, and tourism programs centered around them. The “Mang Thit Contemporary Heritage” project, with a total investment of around 200 billion VND from 2021 to 2025, aims to transform this place into an appealing attraction on the Mekong Delta tourism map.

To reach the Co Chien riverside area, head straight for about 10 km from My Thuan bridge to the Dinh Khao ferry. This area is home to many brick kilns. After that, continue on provincial road 902 for more than 10 km until you reach the Thay Cai bridge. From here, you can see the “kingdom of ceramic tiles” on both banks of the Thay Cai River. Feel free to explore, take photos, and enjoy the sights.

“THE FIRST ICHAM CUP”: Golf Tournament for Business Networking and Commemorating Bilateral Milestones

Advertisements

The year 2023 assumes profound significance in the longstanding association between Vietnam and Italy. It commemorates the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, spanning from March 23, 1973, to March 23, 2023, and simultaneously marks the culmination of a decade in their strategic partnership from 2013 to 2023.

This historical milestone in diplomatic relations has been pivotal in ushering in a new epoch of progress and collaboration between these two nations. Furthermore, 2023 signifies the 15th anniversary of the inception of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (ICHAM). Over the course of these 15 years, ICHAM has steadfastly extended support to both Italian and Vietnamese enterprises, facilitating the discovery of potential partners through comprehensive market research, the orchestration of productive B2B meetings, and the staging of networking occasions and technical seminars with a focus on various sectors spanning both Vietnam and Italy.

As part of these commemorative events, a workshop centered around the theme of “Sustainability and Energy Conversion” was convened on September 7, 2023. The event garnered participation from more than 100 businesses, fostering discussions concerning the green economy and the prevailing trends in sustainable development.

Another noteworthy feature within this series of commemorative events was the golf tournament, aptly titled “THE FIRST ICHAM CUP.” This event unfolded on September 8, 2023, at the prestigious Tan Son Nhat Golf Course situated in Ho Chi Minh City. The tournament drew participation from 144 players, encompassing distinguished guests, accomplished business magnates, collaborative partners, and esteemed members of ICHAM.

“THE FIRST ICHAM CUP” featured an engaging competition format that underscored camaraderie and the spirit epitomizing “50 years of friendship between Vietnam and Italy.” Teams, each comprising two players, engaged in the Best Ball format, thereby promoting synergy and unity. The organizing committee, in recognition of outstanding achievements, bestowed numerous coveted prizes, including the prestigious Best Team Prize, the award for the team with the farthest drive, the prestigious Hole in One prize, and a promising accolade. Following hours of intense competition on the golf course, the triumphant pairs were duly honored during the emotionally charged Gala event, aptly designated as “THE FIRST ICHAM CUP.”

Beyond its appeal to golf enthusiasts, the “THE FIRST ICHAM CUP” event, held on September 8, 2023, also served as a dynamic platform that facilitated interaction amongst domestic and international businesses, foreign associations within Vietnam, and esteemed brands. It afforded an abundance of opportunities for prospective partners, whether they be esteemed brands, organizations, or individuals, to engage in fruitful interactions and cultivate effective networking relationships.

Biden’s Visit Inks Historic Strategic Deal with Vietnam, Fueling Economic Growth and Innovation

Advertisements

In recent news, the United States President, Joe Biden, has cemented a new strategic partnership with Vietnam.

This historic agreement signifies a significant milestone, as it has been over half a century since the last American soldier departed from Vietnam. President Biden personally journeyed to Hanoi to formalize this pact, highlighting its importance.

The agreement encompasses various facets, one of which is a groundbreaking chip partnership between the two nations. Additionally, it includes a substantial $7.8 billion deal for Vietnam Airlines, entailing the acquisition of 50 Boeing 737 passenger aircraft. This strategic move is poised to bolster Vietnam Airlines’ capabilities, expand its fleet, and elevate the quality of its services. Consequently, this enhancement is expected to invigorate Vietnam’s burgeoning tourism sector.

Forecasts suggest that this comprehensive agreement will exert a favorable influence on Vietnam’s economy. The bolstering of collaboration across domains such as trade and investment promises to spawn new employment opportunities and fuel economic growth within Vietnam.

Furthermore, the two countries have committed to deepening their cooperation in various spheres, including political and diplomatic relations, economic affairs, trade, and investment partnerships, as well as fostering innovation-driven inclusive economic development.

Remarkably, Vietnam has undergone a remarkable economic transformation, transitioning from a centrally planned economy to a market-driven one. This transition has propelled Vietnam from its status as one of the world’s most impoverished nations to a lower middle-income economy within a single generation. Over the span of 2002 to 2021, GDP per capita surged 3.6 times, reaching an impressive figure of nearly US$3,700. Poverty rates, defined at US$3.65 per day in 2017 PPP, plummeted from 14 percent in 2010 to a mere 3.8 percent by 2020.

As for the future, Vietnam’s economic growth is anticipated to experience a slight slowdown, with a projection of 6.3 percent in 2023, down from a robust 8 percent in the previous year. This dip is attributed to moderated growth in the services sector, alongside the impact of rising prices and interest rates on households and investors. However, there is optimism that GDP growth will rebound to 6.5 percent in 2024, with a potential decline in domestic inflation from that point onward.

The agriculture sector plays a pivotal role in sustaining economic growth and ensuring food security, contributing 14 percent to GDP and employing 38 percent of the population in 2020. Remarkably, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam earned over US$48 billion in export revenues from this sector in 2021.

Additionally, Vietnam’s commitment to improving living standards is evident in improved health outcomes. Infant mortality rates saw a substantial decline from 32.6 per 1,000 live births in 1993 to 16.7 in 2020. Furthermore, life expectancy has shown remarkable progress, rising from 70.5 years in 1990 to an impressive 75.5 years in 2020.

Vietnam has set ambitious goals for the future, aiming to transition into a high-income country by 2045. This transformation will be guided by environmentally sustainable and inclusive practices, including a commitment to reducing methane emissions by 30 percent and halting deforestation by 2030. Furthermore, Vietnam aspires to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by the year 2050, reflecting its dedication to a greener and more sustainable future.

Binance Says SEC’s Request for Depositions is ‘Overbroad’ and ‘Unduly Burdensome’

Binance says the SEC has no evidence to support its allegations that imply investor assets have been wrongfully diverted

Binance.US (BAM) in a redacted response to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has called the commission’s motion for depositions by the exchange’s executives and further discovery “unduly burdensome” and “freewheeling” as it has yet to be presented with evidence that customer funds were wrongfully diverted.

“Even after all of the discovery already produced by BAM during the expedited discovery period, the SEC still has no evidence to support its unsubstantiated allegations that imply investor assets have been somehow diverted,” the exchange wrote. “All the evidence in this matter—including documents, declarations, and sworn deposition testimony—supports BAM’s position that it has custody and control of its digital assets.”

In June, the SEC alleged that Binance CEO Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao and Guangying ‘Helina’ Chen funneled billions of customer funds through intermediary companies, citing testimony evidence from an SEC accountant.

At the time, Binance and CZ publicly denied all claims. In the filing, BAM writes that CZ has confirmed that it does not have custody or control over the private keys for customer assets on the exchange.

The SEC sought an asset freeze on Binance.US, though the request was declined by a U.S. judge, which ordered the two to begin negotiations on continued operations.

In the filing, BAM questioned the extent of requests by the SEC, including documents related to the exchange’s custody software and wallet solutions.

“The SEC has still not articulated why depositions of BAM’s CEO and CFO fall within the scope of the Consent Order,” the exchange wrote. “The burden imposed by these depositions far outweighs their potential benefit, and the discovery sought is disproportionate to the needs contemplated by the Consent Order.”

Several sections of the filing were redacted, and BAM also filed eight exhibits under seal.

Prudential chi trả gần 9,7 tỷ đồng cho một khách hàng tại Long An

Ngày 10/9 vừa qua, Công ty TNHH Bảo hiểm Nhân thọ Prudential Việt Nam (Prudential) đã tổ chức lễ chi trả gần 9,7 tỷ đồng cho một khách hàng tại Tp. Tân An, Long An.

Here’s the reason why you will buy the iPhone 15 Pro Max?

Advertisements

Incorporating distinctive design elements synonymous with Apple’s signature style, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is set to exude an exceptionally refined aesthetic, thanks to its striking deep blue hue, reminiscent of the boundless ocean.

As of the conclusion of August 2023, eminent industry experts, Ming-chi Kuo and 9to5Mac, concurrently revealed that the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max would be available in four distinct color variants: titanium gray, white silver, black, and the intriguing gray blue. The familiar yellow gold option will no longer be part of the lineup. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models will offer a broader spectrum of choices, including black, pink, yellow, blue, and green.

The color offerings for the iPhone 15 Pro Max are particularly captivating, as they are anticipated to feature a titanium frame. Apple has previously employed titanium in their Apple Watch for several years, albeit with more subdued color choices.

[inline_related_posts title=”You Might Be Interested In” title_align=”left” style=”list” number=”3″ align=”none” ids=”” by=”tags” orderby=”rand” order=”DESC” hide_thumb=”no” thumb_right=”no” views=”no” date=”yes” grid_columns=”2″ post_type=”” tax=””]

The introduction of this novel titanium shell material results in a slightly textured surface for the iPhone 15 Pro’s frame, a departure from the glossy stainless steel frame found in the previous generation. The device’s rear panel retains its frosted glass composition, now offered in two entirely new and distinguished shades: titanium gray and dark blue.

Drawing inspiration from these developments, an illustration of the ocean blue iPhone 15 Pro Max has surfaced. According to the representation shared by the Apple Hub account, the iPhone 15 Pro Max takes on an even more appealing aspect when adorned with this entirely fresh color palette.

If these two color options indeed make it to the official release, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is poised to captivate the discerning tastes of both male and female consumers, as it strikes a balance between sophistication and youthfulness.

It is worth noting that Apple typically explores numerous color options for its new iPhone models before finalizing the selection. Previously, there were speculations regarding the inclusion of a wine red variant for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, though confirmation from Apple is awaited and expected at the forthcoming event.

The unveiling of the iPhone 15 series is anticipated during a special event aptly named “Wonderlust,” scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on September 12th, Pacific Time (equivalent to 0:00 on September 13th, Vietnam Time).

Hack of Vitalik Buterin’s X Account Leads to $691K Stolen

Almost three-quarters of the stolen assets were in the form of NFTs.

Hackers who took control of Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin’s X account have stolen more than $691,000 after posting a malicious phishing link that gained access to people’s wallets.

Blockchain analyst ZachXBT said $691,000 had been drained from people’s wallets, with 73% of that value being in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

The tweet containing the malicious link has since been deleted.

ZachXBT declined to speculate on whether Buterin was the victim of a “SIM swap” attack, stating that the Ethereum founder, who has 4.9 million followers on X, formerly Twitter, is a “big enough target to where an insider could have been paid off.”

SIM swapping involves taking control of someone’s phone number in order to overcome some two-factor security measures on websites like crypto exchanges or social media sites.

Earlier this year it was reported that crypto investors lost a total of $54 million in a single month at the hands of rug pulls, scams and hacks.

Last month, the Terra blockchain’s official website was taken over by hackers who posted a series of malicious links. It is unclear how much was ultimately stolen.
