The bank warns about an application stealing customer account information, iPhone users should take note.

Advertisements

MSB has just issued a warning to customers saying that there have been a number of malicious applications, impersonating public service applications in Vietnam, etc. to steal bank account information.

According to Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MSB), this scam is mainly aimed at customers who want to make money from applications and online jobs. Cybercriminals have taken advantage of this need to install malicious code on applications and links in messages to steal information and appropriate money in customers’ accounts.

When users install these applications and software, the phone is infected with malicious code that aims to gain access, use calls, contacts, photos, messages, microphone, camera, … and perform interactive behavior on the screen without action from the mobile device owner.

This leads to account information, passwords, OTPs being used by fraudsters to appropriate money in the account from the customer’s own device.

For iPhone users with old iOS versions, cybercriminals also take advantage of a vulnerability in iMessage features on iOS 15.7 and earlier versions to spread messages with malicious files attached.

This message will then automatically trigger malicious code and track, collect information, control the device when there is a network connection without the iPhone user’s knowledge.

To identify a phone infected with malicious code, users can observe the following signs: The device runs slowly, the application response speed is longer than usual, the battery drains quickly even without opening many applications, mobile traffic (3/4/5G) will drain faster or the device heats up abnormally.

To ensure the safety and security of personal information, MSB recommends that customers:

1. Only install software provided by trusted developers from official app stores

2. Actively update the latest versions of the iOS operating system and the software installed on the device on a regular basis

3. Use reputable anti-virus software, security features

4. Prioritize the use of biometric security features

5. Be wary of opening any links received via SMS or Email

In case of suspecting that the device is infected with malicious code, users should immediately contact the banking hotline to temporarily block services and report it to the authorities at https://canhbao.ncsc.gov.vn or report to the anti-fraud project https://chongluadao.vn.

Defying police orders after a car crash, New Zealand’s justice minister lost her job

Advertisements

New Zealand Justice Minister Kiri Allan resigned today (July 24) after police charged her with reckless driving and resisting arrest following a car crash.

Prime Minister Chris Hipkins said Mrs Allan was involved in a car crash just after 9pm on July 23 in Wellington. Police arrested the minister before releasing her four hours later.

Police allege Ms. Allan recklessly operated a motor vehicle and refused to cooperate with authorities after causing the accident. Ms. Allan received a notice of traffic violation and will appear in court a day later.

Ms. Allan, once considered a rising star of the Labor Party, recently resigned from her job to seek mental health treatment. This decision came after she publicly broke up with her partner and faced accusations of having a bad working relationship with employees.

Prime Minister Hipkins revealed that he had talked to Ms. Allan on the morning of 24/7, and expressed that this female politician is not currently suitable to continue as a minister because it is unacceptable for the Justice Department leader to be charged with a criminal offence.

Ms. Allan agreed with this view and resigned. However, she is still a member of Parliament.

According to the Guardian, Ms Allan’s case is the latest in a series of scandals involving ministers in the New Zealand Government, less than three months before national elections will take place. Recent polls show that the conservative opposition has risen or surpassed the ruling Liberal Party in voter support, promising dramatic votes.

Breaking: Ukrainian drones struck Moscow, Russia blamed

Advertisements

Russia’s defense ministry has accused Ukraine of carrying out a “terrorist” drone attack in Moscow on Monday. According to reports, two buildings were hit, and debris was discovered near the defense ministry’s facilities. The defense ministry stated that they suppressed and caused the crash of the two drones using their Telegram messaging app.

Mayor Sergei Sobyanin also confirmed the incident through his Telegram messaging app, noting that two non-residential buildings were struck around 4 a.m. (0100 GMT). Fortunately, there were no significant casualties or serious damage reported.

It remains unclear whether the drones targeted the buildings intentionally or if they hit them while being brought down. Specific details on where the drones were intercepted were not disclosed by either the defense ministry or the mayor.

Russian state news agencies cited emergency services, reporting that drone fragments were found near a building on Komsomolsky Avenue, which is about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) away from the defense ministry’s premises. As a result of the attack, traffic was closed on Komsomolsky Avenue and Likhachev Avenue, where a high-rise office building suffered damage.

Videos from various Russian Telegram channels showed the aftermath of the incident, including a damaged high-rise building with missing windows and debris scattered on Komsomolsky Avenue.

This attack follows a week of Russia’s continuous airstrikes on Ukraine’s southern port of Odesa, where recent missile strikes caused fatalities, injuries, and severe damage to a historic Orthodox cathedral.

As of now, there has been no official response from Kyiv. While Ukraine rarely claims responsibility for attacks inside Russia or on Russian-controlled territories in Ukraine, it has suggested that targeting Russia’s military infrastructure helps its counteroffensive efforts.

Tony Leung appears in NewJeans’ MV “Cool With You” as a gift to the Korean audience. The popular Hong Kong actor is not concerned about remuneration or screen time.

The appearance of Tony Leung, the most successful actor in Chinese and Asian cinema, in the MV “Cool With You” by Kpop group NewJeans, surprised the audience.

Many people admitted that they immediately went to watch the MV “Cool With You” to confirm whether a cult actor like  Tony Leung really played a Korean music video.

Tony Leung received a direct invitation from CEO Min Hee Jin of ADOR, participated in according to a guest role in the MV of the NewJeans group without pay and regardless of screen time.

The actor appreciated the script and had a thorough analysis for his role even though it only appeared for about 10 seconds. He directly suggested gray hair in the MV.

After the release of “Cool With You,” the audience couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by ADOR’s investment in rookie group NewJeans.

Similar to the song “Ditto,” the studio and advertising agency Dolphin Kidnappers produced two versions of the music video for “Cool With You.” The MVs feature beautifully shot and artistically rich visuals, with each one continuing the story to form a complete narrative.

Netizens created numerous theories, analyzed the story’s content, and explained that Tony Leung accepted to star in the MV without focusing on the profit.

The BlackPink concert is at risk of cancellation: Some are in tears, while others are laughing.

Advertisements

On July 22, the Performing Arts Department officially announced the decision to stop or continue to hold two nights of BlackPink’s concert in Vietnam.

On the morning of July 22, the Department of Performing Arts, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism officially announced that BlackPink’s two concerts in Hanoi would be cancelled. Accordingly, early next week the relevant agencies will meet to decide whether to stop or continue to hold BlackPink’s Born Pink show.

Previously, on July 20, IME Vietnam (show organizer) announced to confirm that two BlackPink concerts in Hanoi will take place on the same scale as other concerts around the world. However, social networks still spread information about the fact that the organizers have not really prepared carefully all stages of legal procedures, leading to the possibility that the show will be canceled.

This information makes the group’s fans feel bewildered. As planned, only about 1 week left of BlackPink’s Born Pink concert will officially take place at My Dinh Stadium, Hanoi. The performance stage is now complete, and many fans of the group are also looking forward to seeing their idols on stage. Worth mentioning, a part of the audience outside the Hanoi area, besides spending money to buy tickets to participate, there are other costs. Therefore, they feel disappointed with the irresponsible and disrespectful way of working for the audience of the organizers. Some Kpop enthusiasts said that in the future, no famous people will open concerts in Vietnam.

Contrary to the bewildered reaction of BlackPink fans, those holding event tickets are feeling happy, hoping that the concert will be canceled so as not to suffer losses.

Ever since YG Entertainment announced that BlackPink will hold two concerts in Hanoi, there have been many controversies about the group’s concert organization. However, the audience still expects four talented BlackPink girls to smoothly perform in Vietnam, creating a premise for many other idols and celebrities to come to Vietnam to perform.

Understanding Major Currency Pairs and Trading Strategies

Advertisements

In the vast world of forex trading, understanding currency pairs is essential for any trader looking to navigate the global financial markets successfully. Major currency pairs hold a significant position in the forex market, representing the most heavily traded currencies worldwide.

In this article, we will delve into what major currency pairs are, why they are important, and explore some trading strategies that can be employed when trading them on PU Prime.

What are Major Currency Pairs?

Major currency pairs are the most actively traded currency pairs in the forex market. They consist of the world’s leading currencies, paired with the U.S. dollar (USD), which is by far the most-traded currency in the world.

The most common major currency pairs include EUR/USD (Euro/US Dollar), GBP/USD (British Pound/US Dollar), USD/JPY (US Dollar/Japanese Yen), USD/CHF (US Dollar/Swiss Franc), and USD/CAD (US Dollar/Canadian Dollar).

These pairs are known for their high liquidity, tight spreads, and frequent price movements.

Why are Major Currency Pairs Important?

Major currency pairs play a crucial role in the forex market due to their high trading volume and market activity. They provide traders with ample opportunities to profit from short-term price fluctuations and long-term trends. As a result, major currency pairs offer greater liquidity and tighter spreads compared to less popular currency pairs. Their popularity also ensures that relevant news, economic indicators, and technical analysis tools are readily available, aiding traders in making informed trading decisions. The most-frequently traded currency pair is the EUR/USD pair, which makes up over 20% of all trading volume as the two currencies involve the world’s largest economies.

This is followed by the USD/JPY pair, which is popular due to the large volume of carry-trading done. A carry trade is where market participants seek a low-risk way to profit by borrowing the Japanese yen at a low interest rate, and investing in the US dollar, which typically has a much higher interest rate – thus earning from the interest rate differential between the two currencies.

  3. Range Trading: Range trading involves identifying periods of consolidation or sideways movement within a specific price range. Range trading strategies can be particularly effective when major currency pairs are experiencing periods of low volatility.
  4. News Trading: Major currency pairs are heavily influenced by economic news releases, central bank announcements, and geopolitical events. News trading involves analyzing the impact of such events on currency pairs and taking positions accordingly. Traders can use PU Prime’s daily financial news and economic calendar to stay updated on upcoming events and capitalize on potential market volatility.

Passengers receive a full refund if the flight is delayed by 5 hours

Advertisements

If the flight is delayed for 2 hours or more, passengers will be transferred to another flight. In the case of a delay of 5 hours or more, the airline is required to refund the ticket fare to the passenger.

These are the notable points in Circular No. 19/2023, which amends, supplements, and abolishes certain provisions of Circulars related to air transport, recently issued by the Ministry of Transport.

The new Circular specifies the responsibilities of air carriers (airlines) towards passengers in cases of flight cancellations or delays.

According to the Circular, a flight is considered delayed when the actual departure time is more than 15 minutes later than the scheduled time in the flight schedule.

If the flight is delayed due to reasons not caused by the passenger, the airline is obligated to provide complete and updated information to the passenger, apologize to the passenger, and ensure appropriate accommodations, meals, transportation, and other directly related expenses in accordance with the waiting time at the airport as prescribed.

For flights delayed for 2 hours or more, passengers have the option to request a suitable change of itinerary or switch to another flight. Additionally, any conditions or fees related to the change of itinerary or flight switch (if applicable) will be waived for passengers.

For flights delayed for 5 hours or more, if the passenger does not request a change of flight but requests a refund of the ticket fare, the airline must refund the full ticket fare or the unused portion of the ticket fare.

For prolonged delayed flights, upon passenger request, the airline must provide advance non-refundable compensation to confirmed and ticketed passengers according to regulations.

The Circular also defines a canceled flight as one that is not operated and has been announced for booking and ticket sales on the airline’s system within 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

In the case of a canceled flight where passengers were not notified in advance, the airline has similar responsibilities as in the case of delayed flights. Additionally, other obligations must be fulfilled.

Customers can get a refund if the flight is delayed more than 5 hours. (Photo: Hoang Ha)

Specifically, advance non-refundable compensation must be provided to confirmed and ticketed passengers according to regulations.

Within the scope of service provision, the airline must offer a suitable change of itinerary or switch to another flight for passengers. Again, any conditions or fees related to the change of itinerary or flight switch (if applicable) will be waived for passengers.

If passengers refuse to apply the above options, the airline must fully refund the ticket fare or the unused portion of the ticket fare, according to the passenger’s choice.

In such cases, the airline may perform other obligations as agreed upon with the passenger.

For early departure flights (flights that depart more than 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled time in the flight schedule), if the airline’s error results in passengers not receiving a change of schedule notice or if customers do not agree with the early departure, the airline must fulfill similar obligations as in the case of flight cancellations.

Additionally, the refund of tickets will be applied according to specific cases. In these cases, any conditions or fees related to ticket refunds (if applicable) will be waived.

For completely unused tickets, the refund amount will be equal to the ticket amount paid by the passenger…

Welcoming the wave of Indian tourists to Vietnam

Advertisements

India is highly regarded by many travel experts as one of the major markets in the world and an attractive tourist destination that Vietnam should target.

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in the first six months of 2023, Vietnam’s tourism welcomed about 5.6 million international visitors. Notably, the Indian market has a strong growth with more than 141,000 visitors, ranking 10th among the leading markets of Vietnam’s tourism. Photo: VNA

Sharing on TTXVN (Vietnam News Agency), Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, the Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, believes that Vietnam has identified India as a top priority potential market and aims to intensify promotional activities to attract Indian tourists. This is evident in the strong air connectivity between the two countries, facilitating the exchange of tourists between India and Vietnam.

Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, and India’s Indigo have opened numerous air routes connecting Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Phu Quoc with New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Kolkata in India.

According to the assessment of the Vietnam Institute for Tourism Development Research (Vietnam National Administration of Tourism), India is expected to become one of the major markets in the world and a compelling market that Vietnam should focus on.

Indian guests in Vietnam. Photo: TL

The Tourism Development Research Institute believes that Indian tourists represent a potential customer segment but are not easy to tap into. To understand their psychology and serve them well, tourism entities need to have a workforce that understands Indian culture, lifestyle, and cuisine.

Notably, India is a multi-religious country, and different groups of Indian tourists may follow various religions. Therefore, businesses must thoroughly research and cater to the service and dining preferences of each customer group. Currently, Vietnam lacks experienced tour guides who can cater to Indian tourists, and there are few establishments offering Indian cuisine.

Thailand is also actively attracting Indian tourists. In 2022, the country welcomed one million Indian visitors out of a total of 11 million international arrivals. This made Indian tourists the second-largest international source market for Thailand in 2022, following Malaysia.

YouTube to address uneven audio issues when watching videos

Advertisements

Many people expect that YouTube’s new feature will help users avoid being startled by excessively loud advertisements or abrupt volume changes when switching to new videos.

YouTube is the largest online video-sharing platform in the world. However, an issue that many users have been facing on this platform for years has not been resolved – the inconsistent volume levels of videos, either too loud or too soft, leading them to constantly adjust the volume.

To address this problem, YouTube has recently introduced a new feature that enables the platform to automatically adjust the volume of each video.

The new feature, called “Stable volume,” has been added to the video settings menu. It is likely that Stable volume will be able to control and balance the volume across different videos, allowing users to enjoy videos without worrying about excessively high or low volume.

New YouTube feature – Stable volume will appear in the customization menu.

A YouTube spokesperson confirmed that YouTube is currently testing a new audio control feature on mobile devices globally, which allows users to have a more consistent sound experience while watching videos.

Currently, YouTube is limiting the Stable Volume feature to some accounts and not releasing it widely. The Stable Volume feature will also enhance the user experience on YouTube, especially when listening to music or avoiding intentionally loud advertisements designed to grab attention.

Additionally, YouTube has introduced a series of new features for Windows users, including improved video quality, a new fast-forward mode, and enhancements to the Dark Mode.

The world’s largest online video-sharing platform has also recently updated its policies to restrict impersonation of content creators and famous channels. The new policy will come into effect on August 21st. According to the new policy, YouTube will suspend and delete accounts that intentionally impersonate another channel by using their information, images, or interface.

KOK 2023 off-road race set to kick off in Vung Tau

Advertisements

There will be 30 car racing teams and 60 off-road motorcycle athletes participating in the Knock Out the King (KOK 2023) off-road racing event, which will take place at Ho Tram (Ba Ria – Vung Tau) on July 29-30.

On the evening of July 20, the organizers of the Knock Out the King – KOK off-road racing event announced information about KOK 2023. For the first time, the competition will be held at Tropicana Park Ho Tram, Xuyen Moc District, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, over a two-day period on July 29-30.

The teams will compete in a combination of rally (wild road racing) and off-road (overcoming treacherous terrain) on a specially designed course.

Similar to the 2022 event, KOK 2023 will involve 90 racing teams, comprising 30 car teams and 60 off-road motorcycle athletes. The total prize value for KOK 2023 is up to 300 million Vietnamese dong, with the championship team receiving 70 million dong.

At the KOK race, 2 off-road vehicles will have to directly compete with each other in parallel tracks.

Unlike most off-road racing events in Vietnam that involve time-trial courses, the appeal of KOK lies in intense and unpredictable head-to-head competition. In this competition, two off-road vehicles will directly race against each other on parallel tracks.

Particularly, during the qualifying round, if a racer is dissatisfied with their position in the lower group, they can challenge one of the top 4 racers. If they win, they will take the challenged racer’s position, but if they lose, they will be immediately eliminated. As a result, even the “king” can be dethroned if they make a mistake.

Athlete Nguyen Anh Tu with a Mitsubishi Triton is the defending champion of KOK 2022.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai (Hai Kar), the Head of the KOK 2023 organizing committee and a renowned off-road racer and vehicle review expert in Vietnam, stated that there are two important factors that set KOK apart. First is the inherent tension of competitive sports, and the second is speed, the most attractive element when it comes to racing.

“My goal is to create a professional playground for athletes to familiarize themselves with and gain early exposure to rally races in the region and the world. Based on the experience from previous years and seeing the improving skills of drivers, I am confident that the audience will be constantly thrilled with high-speed chases and intense racing during the two-day event,” Mr. Hai shared.

KOK is one of the most anticipated events in the motorsport community in Vietnam in general, and particularly among off-road racing enthusiasts over the past years.

This year marks the 5th season of KOK. The event had to be interrupted for 3 years due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic before resuming in 2022.

KOK 2023 receives technical and organizational support from experienced clubs in the field, such as the Hanoi Offroad Club, Vietnam Offroad Truck Club – PVC, Hanoi Enduro Cross Motorcycle Club, Vietnam Dune Buggy Community, and others.

Ho Chi Minh City listed among fascinating street food destinations

Advertisements

Recently, the Indian Travel and Leisure magazine published a list of 20 cities with fascinating street food cultures around the world. Among them, Ho Chi Minh City is the sole representative from Vietnam.

According to the assessment by Travel and Leisure (India), Vietnam is renowned for its street food offerings. In Ho Chi Minh City, one of Vietnam’s liveliest cities, “goi cuon” (spring rolls) is a must-try street food for tourists.

Travel and Leisure describes “goi cuon” as a combination of various ingredients such as rice vermicelli, fresh vegetables, herbs, along with shrimp or pork, all wrapped in rice paper. To fully appreciate the freshness of the vegetables and seafood, tourists should dip the spring rolls in peanut sauce. Tourists can easily find this street food at eateries along Tran Khac Chan street or in Phu Nhuan district.

Photo: The spruce eats

Apart from “goi cuon,” tourists can also indulge in other popular street foods such as grilled shrimp, fish hotpot, various crab dishes, not to mention the iconic “banh mi” (Vietnamese sandwich) and egg coffee.

In February of this year, Khyati Dand, an Indian food writer for The Travel, named Asia as one of the ideal destinations for street food enthusiasts. In her list of the “street food lover’s dream destinations,” Ho Chi Minh City was mentioned as the second city, right after Delhi (India).

Dand suggests that when visiting Ho Chi Minh City, tourists should try dishes like “banh mi,” squid porridge, roasted pork, and dine at old, traditional eateries. Local people enjoy eating at small restaurants with plastic tables and chairs set up on the sidewalk. Tourists can also experience the unique aspect of riding on motorbikes through the streets to savor the food, which Dand considers an extraordinary experience.

Besides Ho Chi Minh City, other Asian representatives in the list of 20 cities with fascinating street food cultures include Kolkata (India), Bali (Indonesia), Bangkok (Thailand), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Tokyo (Japan), and more.
