At 1:00 PM on August 3, a brand-new 45-seat bus from Visit Indochina Travel Company carried 16 officers, military personnel, and crew members from the USS George Washington strike group to visit and shop at the Non Nuoc Fine Arts Stone Village in Da Nang City.

Sailors Praise Vietnam as Safe and Peaceful
Throughout their hours ashore, the members of the delegation maintained their excitement and joy while enjoying every moment in Da Nang City.

A crew member explained the arrival process at Tien Sa Port. Sailors could join organized tours or choose independent travel.
“Vietnam is very safe and wonderful,” a sailor shared. “Today, our tour company hosted us for Mi Quang near the beach.” He added that trying this local specialty was a delightful experience.

Sailors stepped ashore starting August 3. Before touring the city, they participated in community exchange programs. Afterward, they explored top tourist destinations across Da Nang.
A Golden Opportunity to Promote Da Nang’s Image
According to Nguyen Son Thuy, Director of Visit Indochina Company, his agency welcomed nearly one thousand sailors over four days. To promote the culture, land, and people of Da Nang, the company collaborated with partners to design tours across four distinct themes centered around the message of “Returning to the Original Roots.”
The sightseeing program developed by Visit Indochina focuses on exploring the profound cultural, historical, and local lifestyle values, providing visitors with an authentic experience of the destination.
“Visitors enjoy specialty dishes at well-known local eateries, such as Ba Duong banh xeo, Ba Mua Mi Quang, salt coffee, and coconut ice cream,” Thuy shared.

Additionally, the tour groups visited major city landmarks such as the Hai Van Pass, the Marble Mountains, and downtown Da Nang. Guests were also guided through traditional shopping experiences at local markets like Con Market and Han Market, alongside explorations of traditional local craft villages, including the Nam O fish sauce craft village.
According to Thuy, the entire program was structured around immersive experiences, allowing visitors to directly touch the cultural values, heritage, culinary arts, and local rhythm of life in Da Nang. This visit provides a perfect platform to showcase Da Nang as a safe, friendly, and world-class destination.
