Vessel Capsizes in Van Don: Three Saved, Two Still Trapped in Cabin

At approximately 2:00 PM on July 9, disaster struck the Ban Sen sea area in Van Don. Vessel HP-4914 suddenly capsized with five people on board. Captain Vu Thanh Long, born in 1973, commanded the ship. He resides in the Dai Nang ward of Hai Phong City.

Immediately after the emergency alert, Van Don authorities launched a frantic search and rescue operation. Rescue teams successfully brought three survivors safely to shore.

Emergency workers rushed the three survivors to the Van Don Regional General Hospital for urgent medical treatment. The rescued crew members include Captain Vu Thanh Long, born in 1973. The others are Mr. Bui Van Nho, born in 1981, and Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong. All three men reside in Dai Nang ward, Hai Phong City.

Two men still remain trapped inside the vessel’s dark cabin. The missing victims are Mr. Truong Van Hanh, born in 1978, and Mr. Truong Van Phuong, born in 1973. The two men are biological brothers from Dai Nang ward, Hai Phong City.

Following the accident, the Van Don People’s Committee mobilized a massive response team. They ordered the local Military Command, Police Force, and Ha Long Border Guard to the scene. These forces rapidly deployed specialized vehicles and vessels to aid the rescue mission.

At the time of reporting, two victims remain trapped inside the cabin. 

As rescuers search for the trapped brothers, commanders also enforce strict safety protocols for the personnel. The Van Don People’s Committee formally requested emergency reinforcements from the Quang Ninh Provincial Police to bolster the operation.
