Vietnam’s Ministry of Health reported 31 coronavirus patients, including 30 local cases, on Tuesday, with most traced back to two clusters in the northern region.
18 of the new local cases were logged in Hai Duong, 08 in Quang Ninh, 01 in Hanoi, 03 in Gia Lai and 01 imported case, the Health & Life Newspaper of Health Ministry reported.
A total of 304 domestic infections have been documented since Jan 20, according to the health ministry’s data.
The new wave of Covid-19 in Vietnam is being caused by the fast-spreading U.K. variant of the coronavirus, the Ministry of Health has said.
Officials have yet to identify the source of the transmissions.
Vietnamese will celebrate the Lunar New Year, their biggest and longest holiday of the year, next week, and usually people travel back home to celebrate it with their extended families.
