Local police report that all six victims are believed to be Vietnamese.
On July 16, Thai media, citing police sources, reported that six foreigners were found dead in a hotel room in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
The bodies were discovered by hotel staff who entered the room when the guests failed to check out as scheduled. Their luggage was already packed.
The incident was uncovered around 7:30 p.m. today.
While some sources identify the victims as Vietnamese, others suggest they may be Vietnamese Americans.
Authorities, including the police and health officials, have not yet released official information.
Initially, Thai media reported that the victims had died from gunshot wounds. However, Matichon newspaper later suggested that poisoning might be the cause of death, listing the victims as four Vietnamese and two Americans, comprising three men and three women.
A police officer also refuted the claim that the victims died from gunshot wounds, stating, “There were no signs of a shooting,” but did not provide further details.
The Thai Prime Minister has called for a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
Further information is awaited.
