Vietnam has just confirmed nine more infections of the new coronavirus (Covid-19) on Sunday evening, raising the country’s total to 188.
Among the new cases, 4 have been quarantined when entering Vietnam, 3 from the public and 2 connected to Bach Mai Hospital. Zing News, a Vietnamese media reported.
The Ministry of Health recommends that all patients, their family members and anyone who has been to Bach Mai Hospital between March 10-27 take the following measures:
- Send a message notifying your full name and address to the phone number 8889.
- Contact your local disease control center for advice.
- Make a medical declaration on the NCOVI application (ncovi.vn), or declare online at tokhaiyte.vn, regularly update health status for advice and assistance.
Of Vietnam’s 188 confirmed Covid-19 cases, 25 have been discharged after treatment, including four discharged Sunday.
Many of the currently active cases are Vietnamese nationals returning from Europe and the U.S. and foreigners coming from the same regions.
Starting March 22, Vietnam has suspended entry for all foreign nationals, including those of Vietnamese origin and family members with visa waivers and halted all international flights from March 25.
Only Vietnamese nationals and foreigners having diplomatic and official passports such as business managers, experts and high-skilled workers will be allowed to enter the country at this time, and all entrants will be quarantined for 14 days.
Details of 9 new coronavirus patients as below:
The 180th case, 27, is a Vietnamese student in France, living in Hanoi’s Mỹ Đức District. She returned to Vietnam on March 20 from France, connecting in Thailand, on flight TG564. She was put under quarantine in northern Ninh Bình Province upon her arrival.
The 181st case, 33, is a Vietnamese man in Hà Nội. He came back Vietnam from Thailand on flight TG564 on March 20 and was taken to a quarantine centre in Ninh Bình Province.
A Vietnamese case, 19, in Switzerland is the 182nd case. She returned to Vietnam on March 20, connecting in Thailand, on flight VN618 and was put into quarantine in Ninh Bình Province.
The 183rd case is a Vietnamese reporter, 43, residing in Hà Nội’s Cầu Giấy District. She met with the 148th patient on March 12.
The 184th case is a Vietnamese woman, 43, who lives in northern Vĩnh Phúc Province’s Phúc Yên District. She returned to Vietnam from Russia on flight SU290 via Nội Bài International Airport in Hà Nội on March 25.
The 185th case is a Vietnamese man, 38, from Hà Nội’s Hoài Đức District. He went to Bạch Mai Hospital in Hà Nội for an eight-day treatment and left the hospital on March 19. He started to cough on March 24 and was tested for the SARS-COV-2 virus. He tested positive for the virus on March 29.
A French woman, 52, is the 186th patient. She is wife of the 76th patient. She arrived at Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport in HCM City on March 10 on flight TK162. From March 10-16, she travelled from HCM City to Mekong Delta’s Cần Thơ City, Hội An Town in central Quảng Nam Province and Thừa Thiên-Huế province. She came to Ninh Bình Province on March 16 and was tested for COVID-19.
The 187th case is an American man, 30, living in Hà Nội’s Tâ Hồ District. He arrived at Nội Bài International Airport in Hà Nội on March 13. He underwent self-quarantine at home from March 13-19 and had close contact with four Vietnamese people and five foreigners of the same building where he stays. His sample was taken for testing under a large-scale testing campaign on March 22 and the result was announced on March 25.
The 188th case is a Vietnamese woman, 44, living in Hà Nội’s Mỹ Đức District. She works as a hot water deliverer for Bạch Mai hospital in Hà Nội. She lived with the 169th patient. She started to cough on March 22.
According to Vietnam News Agency, all of the patients are under quarantine and in stable conditions.
