72 bus lines in Vietnam’s largest city of Saigon will be reopened from May 04 after the city began easing social distancing.
The bus lines operator added it has ordered heads of its units to make plans to keep the passenger number within the permissible level and ensure safe distance among commuters.
It has also requested other disease prevention measures be seriously carried out such as disinfecting buses and asking those on board to wear face masks.
Bus drivers and their assistants will refuse serving any people who show suspected symptoms or deny complying with anti-COVID-19 regulations.
From April 1, Public bus services in HCMC has been suspended to stem the spread of the coronavirus, reported Tuoi Tre newspaper.
The bus services in Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi also resumed from April 25, many drivers told VNExpress, a local newspaper that, they felt “better than Tet’ to be back at work after almost a month even just five major bus terminals in Hanoi reopened.

Vietnam has enforced a restriction on all coaches, buses and taxis nationwide from Wednesday (April 1) in a bid to tackle the Covid-19 epidemic.
The country’s Ministry of Transport issued an urgent document ordering reduction of flights and suspension of road transportation, which requires trans- and inter-province and city coaches running on contracts, tourist buses, taxi and buses to be suspended for 15 days starting from Wednesday, the Vietnam News agency reported.
