The Ministry of Health confirmed a 36 year-old woman in Thuong Tin District of Hanoi as the 266th COVID-19 patient in Vietnam on Tuesday evening.
From March 8-10, the patient had visited Bach Mai General Hospital to care for her mother at the hospital’s Rehabilitation Department. On March 12, she started experiencing an itchy throat, and on March 30 she isolated herself at home.
Her sample was taken on April 12 and tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on April 14. The patient is currently in isolation at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases.
The sub-committee for treatment of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control also reported a 17-year-old woman had been declared the 169th COVID-19 patient to recover in Vietnam.
The 17-year-old woman, Patient 146, Vietnamese, was discharged from the General Hospital of Cầu Treo International Border Gate Area, Hà Tinh Province on Tuesday evening.
She was admitted to hospital on March 23.
During treatment, the patient was tested three times and all tests came back negative for SARS-CoV-2 on April 7, 9 and 12.The patient will continue to be isolated and monitored for the next 14 days.
