On August 11, local officials organized a tourism conference in Hanoi. The event introduced new travel packages and announced the upcoming Da Lat Flower Festival 2026.
Speaking at the event, official Nghiem Dinh Hieu introduced the province’s new slogan: “Lam Dong – A Journey of Sea, Flowers, and Great Forests.” Consequently, this message reflects a broader vision for regional travel.
Traditionally, travelers associated Lam Dong only with Da Lat. The city is famous for cool pine forests, romantic highlands, and blooming flowers. However, the newly expanded province now offers a far richer ecosystem.

Furthermore, this expansion represents more than a simple geographic union. It creates a powerful synergy by blending highland agriculture, rich indigenous forest culture, and vibrant coastal energy.
More importantly, the official reopening of Lien Khuong Airport on August 19 will restore major domestic routes. It will reconnect Da Lat with Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Vinh, and Hai Phong.
As a result, the airport will handle 36 to 40 flights daily, accommodating about 6,800 passengers per day.

Ha Van Sieu, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, praised this diverse ecosystem. Meanwhile, Hanoi serves as a primary source market, an international gateway, and a cultural hub.
Therefore, strengthening connectivity between Lam Dong and Northern localities will establish reciprocal travel routes. This strategy expands choices for visitors and maximizes market efficiency.
Specifically, the airport’s reopening provides ideal conditions to rebuild essential flight paths across the country.
However, Ha Van Sieu emphasized that air routes remain sustainable only with tailored tourism products, competitive pricing, and steady visitor volume.
To ensure long-term success, he outlined key strategic directions. First, regional partnerships must transition from event-based cooperation to structured, measurable plans.
Second, stakeholders should create market-ready packages centered on traveler demand. Third, regional partners must coordinate efforts to maintain stable passenger supply for airlines.
Fourth, the province needs to modernize promotion through shared digital platforms. Finally, leaders must keep safety, quality, and sustainability at the core of all alliances.
In 2026, Lam Dong aims to welcome nearly 26 million visitors, targeting total tourism revenue of 71.5 trillion VND.
In fact, during the first seven months of 2026, the province welcomed over 14 million visitors. This total includes nearly 1 million international tourists, generating almost 40 trillion VND.
Looking ahead, the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival will take place in December 2026.
Ultimately, the festival offers a prime opportunity for Lam Dong to showcase its natural beauty, culture, and high-tech agriculture. This momentum will turn cultural events into tangible economic gains for local communities.
