On July 2, the Binh Phuoc Ward People’s Committee shared an important update. Specifically, local residents recently found a rare pangolin and a Crested serpent eagle in the area.
The residents quickly realized these animals were endangered forest species. Therefore, they contacted local authorities right away to hand them over. In addition, the citizens wanted to see the creatures live safely in the wild. As a result, they chose to work together with wildlife officials to protect them.
Soon after, officials transferred the animals to the Mobile Forest Ranger Team No. 2. This unit operates under the Dong Nai Forest Protection Department. Furthermore, the Rescue Center at Bu Gia Map National Park joined the efforts to care for them.
Next, specialists identified the creatures as a Java pangolin and a Crested serpent eagle. Both species belong to the strictly protected Group IB list. Consequently, they receive the highest level of state protection. Fortunately, recent medical checks show that both animals are in healthy condition.
Currently, rescue units are following standard protocols to safeguard the wild creatures. This careful process will ensure their ultimate survival before they return to nature.
