At 8:00 PM on August 22, the Vietnam national football team will face hosts Thailand in the first leg of the ASEAN Cup 2026 final, held at Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok.
Under tournament regulations, the host organizing committee must allocate a minimum of 5% to 10% of total stadium capacity to visiting supporters. Given Rajamangala Stadium’s roughly 50,000-seat capacity, the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) reserved 3,000 tickets for Vietnamese fans.
According to Thai Ticket Major, the official ticketing distributor for the match, the entire allocation of 3,000 away tickets was purchased online in record time. Each ticket was priced at 500 THB (approximately 400,000 VND / $16 USD)—the highest among the five pricing tiers set by FAT for the final, which ranged from 200, 250, 300, 400, to 500 THB.
The rapid sellout took Thai organizers by surprise, underscoring the relentless passion of Vietnamese football supporters.
In contrast to the strong away turnout, local attendance for Thailand’s home fixtures has trended downward throughout this year’s tournament, even after FAT President Madam Pang directed a 100-THB price cut across all ticket categories starting from the semifinal round.
After landing in Bangkok on the afternoon of August 20 to recover physical sharpness, the Vietnamese squad completed their official pitch familiarization session at Rajamangala Stadium. The team is primed and determined to secure an advantageous result before heading into the decisive second leg at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi.
With immense fan interest on both sides, the upcoming two-legged showdown promises to deliver an electric, high-stakes final for Southeast Asian football supremacy.
