On the afternoon of the same day, a leader of the Xuan Hoa Ward People’s Committee told VietNamNet that local authorities were actively verifying and clarifying the incident.
Initial information from local authorities states that around 7:30 AM on June 22, an altercation broke out in front of the Phuong Thuy seafood store. The dispute involved Ms. Nguyen Thi T. (43 years old) and her mother, Ms. N.T.T. (67 years old), who clashed with Ms. N.T.Q. (63 years old, residing in Minh Tri Commune, Hanoi), a vegetable vendor operating across the street.
The cause was determined to be a dispute over vending locations. As a result of the clash, Ms. Q. suffered severe trauma to her eyes. Both eyes were heavily swollen, with visible bleeding in her left eye. Her right hand was also injured after Ms. T. and her mother repeatedly blasted her with the high-pressure water nozzle.
Immediately upon receiving the report, the Xuan Hoa Ward People’s Committee ordered the ward police to the scene to work with all involved parties. They also assisted the family in rushing Ms. Q. to the National Eye Hospital for emergency treatment.
The Xuan Hoa Ward Police are currently continuing their investigation to clarify and handle the matter in accordance with legal regulations.
