Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has tasked the Ministry of Health and local authorities to promtply review, re-evaluate and inspect bidding packages for procurement of medical supplies for COVID-19 fight.
The bidding packages range from medical equipment, drugs, face masks to testing kits and ventilators.
Those who violate regulations on bidding regulations shall be strictly fined, the Government chief ordered.
Last week, Director of Ha Noi Center for Disease Control (CDC) Nguyen Nhat Cam and six other were arrrested for suspected corruption related to COVID-19 test kits purchases.
The CDC is responsible for preventing outbreaks and infectious diseases in the capital city.
As of 6 pm on Monday, the COVID-19 patient tally remained unchanged at 270, according to the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
Noticeablly, eight recovered patients have tested positive again, including two Brazillian men, the committee said./.
