Vietnam reported no new Covid-19 cases Monday evening, keeping its count of active patients at 52. It has not reported any new case in the community for nearly three weeks.
The country has confirmed 271 coronavirus cases to date, of whom 219 have recovered. Of the active cases, 14 are relapses. The Health Ministry said there are three critically-ill patients at the moment.
The latest case reported yesterday is a British expert, who arrived in HCMC this week to work on a project of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petro Vietnam).

He arrived Vietnam on April 28 by a private jet with 12 others. After landing at Tan Son Nhat Airport in HCMC, he and the others were immediately quarantined.
The man first tested negative for virus along with the other people on board but a second test taken the day before yesterday revealed a positive result. He is currently being treated at a Field Hospital in HCMC.
Students across Vietnam started returning to their classrooms Monday that had been closed to curb the coronavirus.

“It is very important to apply preventive measures during this time. We have hand sanitizers available in many places. The students are scanned for temperatures at the gate when they enter the school and when they are in the classrooms and their health is recorded,” said a teacher in the capital city of Hanoi.

All educational institutions were closed at the beginning of February when the first cases were reported in the country and all learning was moved online. Last month, the country imposed travel restrictions and closed businesses for three weeks.
The Covid-19 pandemic has spread to 212 countries and territories, with more than 244,500 deaths reported so far.
