It is Saturday, April 4, the day on which originally the qualification for the very first edition of the Vietnam Grand Prix would take place.
The sad reality is that we now have to do it with an onboard lap in the simulator of Mercedes. Esteban Gutierrez will take you round.

The lap shows the long straights in the first two sectors of the circuit really well. Gutierrez goes full throttle for almost 20 seconds on the longest straight in this lap on the simulator.
The last sector then shows why it’s such a shame that we won’t see the drivers in action here this year. From the design and construction of the circuit we could already see that the curves here follow each other quickly and the driver can take them at high speed. In the simulator you can see how close the driver is to the wall here.
