An overseas study student returning from France, a flight attendant of Vietnam Airlines and a French tourist tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) on Monday, bringing the county’s total to 60. Vietnam’s Ministry of Health reports.
Case 58th, a female student, 26-year-old native of Hanoi living in Yen The Street, Ba Dinh District, the Health Ministry announced Monday. She studied in France and landed at Hanoi’s Noi Bai airport on Sunday. The Hanoi Center for Disease Control took her samples which later show she is positive for the novel coronavirus. The patient and those who had come in close contact with her have been quarantined and treated at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases of Hanoi. VNExpress, Vietnamese online news channel reports.
Case 59th, a flight attendant of Vietnam Airlines, who was on the same flight VN54 with Nguyen Hong Nhung, Hanoi’s first Covid-19 patient and the nation’s 17th, on March 2 from London to Hanoi. She’s now the 21st patient in relation to the flight. On March 14, she started coughing and developed a fever, and was tested positive for the virus. Her health condition is stable, doctors said. She is also quarantined and treated in the same hospital as “patient 58”.
Case 60th is a 29-year-old French national. He was on a flight from Paris to Noi Bai airport on March 9. After landing, he visited several places in Hanoi and northern Ninh Binh province. On Sunday, he returned to Hanoi and was quarantined by the Hanoi Center for Disease Control where his samples were taken, tested, and show positive for the virus.

Earlier, Vietnam had confirmed an infected patient who was on the same flight with the French man.
With the latest three, Vietnam has recorded 44 active coronavirus patients since March 6, including 18 foreigners. The previous 16 patients were discharged weeks ago.
The coronavirus outbreak has spread to 156 countries and territories, with the death toll climbing to over 6,600.
